Payton and Belichick are looking like geniuses for getting rid of Brandin Cooks (2 Viewers)

Cooks has upside. If he would have mentally taken a back seat to Thomas, we would have been happy to keep him. With that said, we saved the $$$$ and were able to get ramczyck.

Cooks is good but will never be that elite receiver because he’s not willing to take that big hit to make the catch. He wants no part of physicality.

anti-clutch. Gets arm tackled. And too short for a #1.

Cooks is a really good #2 WR...in Fantasy football. He’s like Robin without Batman.

He has no lateral movement at all. Cant shake any defender in the open field.

Forget about YAC if any defender has a shot to takle him...cannot break a tackle.

He simply isn't physical. New England made sure a defender was in his hip pocket the entire game. He escaped a couple times but not enough to cause real damage. Different story if goff finds him sooner in the end zone for a TD. Point is if you get physical with him then he usually does not do much. Finally, I never liked him. Something off putting about that smirk he constantly has on his face.

First player in history to lose in back to back Super Bowls for two different teams.

Edit: May not be first player in history, I can't find the tweet that had that stat to back it up. Still, doing that is pretty... impressive? lol
MY buddy Glen Parker played for 5 losing SB teams, 4 w/the Bills & 1 w/the Giants. Not quite the same but definitely THE record. Great stories.

yea Cooks cant make the tough catches and is a one trick pony and locker room cancer... good riddance

He's productive every where he's gone...made some plays in a game where few plays were made....yall butthurt he left because he was a beast when he wore black and gold too...

define "beast"

because i think you and i have a different definition of "beast" when it comes to an NFL WR.

simple exercise- does MT drop that TD in the back of the endzone to tie in the 4th? Or Larry Fitz or Julio Jones? ( ok well maybe Julio since we all know his struggle with TD receptions lol)

His stature is what keeps him from being top5 wideout. He goes to ground entirely too much in open field to avoid hits. He isnt strong enough to fight off a defender pawing at his arm. Lots of small things that make a beast WR he just doesnt or cant do.

Hes a flanker. A good flanker, arguably best flanker in the league but hes not versatile. You try to do more with him outside of a flanker role like he wants it doesnt work. And with his skill set you would think YAC would be parg of his upside. Hes a good scripted runner. No instincts/awareness/vision with ball in his hand.

After watching the highlights for him, he made a few tough catches, and he dropped a couple of crucial ones. Inconsistent, which isn't too surprising considering his history. He's a solid #2 WR, but I wouldn't want him in the #1 role. He would have been a nice sidekick to MT, but eh, I don't miss him too much.
