Payton screwed up. Should've gotten a Lawyer. (1 Viewer)

You're right. I'm sure Sean Payton never read that email. And I'm sure he magically filtered his email to preclude any messages that mentioned things like "bounties", "hurting players for cash", etc....even though he had no knowledge this was going on in the locker room.

Again.

you seem to believe that there is a difference between hurting people for cash within the rules and just playing plain old football. there isn't. And you think that we are living in a fantasy world? Players get officially paid to hit and hurt other players with hard, legal hits. That's football. If you don't like that, then there is always figure skating and non-contact sports.

as for what you assume payton read or may not have read, That article don't explicitly say that he ever read that e-mail before that date. There is an old saying "it aint what you know, it's what you can prove."

No, but again, if it makes you feel better to think that I said that, or hinted at it, by all means...
"abhorrent bounty system going on in his locker room"

...this just keeps getting better.

My fellow Saints fans, y'all are getting hooked.

:trolls:

Again, because I agree with the NFL's decision, I'm a troll?

So only forum members that toe the company line are "not trolls"? Just curious.

Any topic is going to have multiple viewpoints. You would do well in life to not automatically dismiss any opinion that does not match your own, rather argue the merits.

So far, most of what I've heard is "you can't prove ____ (insert coach/player name here) did anything".

Well, apparently the NFL can.

Really? I screamed for Payton's blood?

I'm sure in your little world, what the Packers did (and stopped doing when the league told them to) and what the Saints did, are the same. In reality, they are not even remotely similar, but again, if your convoluted "logic" (for lack of a better word) makes you feel better, then by all means, keep frothing at the mouth, and put everybody but the Saints personnel who screwed your team under the microscope.

You do realize that you are trespassing on a Saints fan forum, huh lamebomouth?...now why don't you take your lamebo opinion and trot back over to lameboland where you can do all your frothing at the mouth:bandg:

Weak. Still doesnt mean that he knew it continued after it was 1st brought to his attention. And it certainly doesnt mean he helped covered it up

Wow, you're a real piece of work. You feel bad for a guy that turned a blind eye to the abhorrent bounty system going on in his locker room, but you vilify the guy that held him accountable.

it's so funny to me when people come out of the woodwork to bask in other people's problems. go back under your rock, troll. your life must be pretty pathetic.

We don't know who went in the meeting with Goodell. Did he(Payton) have a lawyer present?
true, but by get a lawyer i mean that he should've forced the NFL to prove their case instead of accepting full responsibility before knowing what the ultimate judgement would be.

Payton gambled on goodell's mercy and lost.

To think of someone coming to an opposing team's board that in a way as a fanbase is suffering at the moment, is being a troll. You're not going to agree with us, and we're not going to agree with you, so just go away and preach on your packers board how great and righteous you all are.

I'm sure if all of our staff and all of our players were banned, heck, if the entire franchise was disbanded, you'd feel fine with it.

It's amazing to me how much time some have on their hands.

Ah, so now I'm "basking in the glory"? Wow.

Again, I ask. Everybody that disagrees with you is a troll?

No, I think his point was that since you are a packer fan on a saints board arguing with Saints fans that you are a troll. If you were speaking your opinion on the packers board, you probably wouldn't be labeled as such. I think his post was a pretty accurate description of what your are doing here.
