Payton Turner has turf toe; placed on IR 9/13 (week to week as of 12/8 per Underhill) (1 Viewer)

I've been wondering about Turner. Seems like he was flashing quite a bit in TC. Adding him into the rotation late in the season could be a nice jolt to the pass rush.
Turner arguably had the best camp. He was making plays every other day in reporters notes. Seeing him go down to turf toe week 1 after perfect attendance in camp wasn’t much of his fault. He’ll step right back into DE3 if he makes it back this year. Wouldn’t mind a rotation with Cam so Turner can rush opposite Granderson at the same time. He consistently generates pressures when he’s available.

Seems to me that someone would be able to design a shoe for linemen (or others) that could reduce or eliminate the chance of "turf toe"....

You’re talking hover technology
If the conditions are right (wrong), you’re asking for a super strong rubber band to withstand 300 LBs plus whatever thrust is involved
It’s actually more surprising it doesn’t happen more often

Man...between Davenport, Turner and Foskey, the Saints have used some major draft capital at DE (3 firsts and a low second? Is that right?). Hasn't exactly paid off....
