I have been critical of Penning, and all I wanted was for him to look like a starter, since he was a first round pick.

Be average or solid, was my plea. Because that would complete this line to be a positive, not a weakness.

His hard work has paid off, and he's making me buy him dinner to the restaurant of his choice. If he can find me.

People had their right to doubt. I've always been fairly non-committal with him....just knew I liked him and wanted him to succeed. It's been awesome to watch him work people over because I knew that was in there somewhere. Hope he continues to maul people and improve his game.

It can't be understated. The development of these two is essential. It means we won't have to draft Olinemen early again next year and add depth and players to other positions. (Although, I think smart teams tend to take an OL or DL in the first 3 rounds each year as these guys take a couple years to develop.)

Carmichael screwed our offensive line so bad. It's comical to see how things have changed under someone competent. Pocket is moving, players are chipping, players are moving exposing defensive configurations, there is some balance. So happy that Penning is redeeming himself.
