Per Nick Underhill: Dennis Allen spoke extensively about the red zone issues. Says it’s a combination of play calls, execution and coaching (1 Viewer)

This is true but it's not about just QB red zone numbers, per say. It's about efficiency in the red zone. Can you look at any of these 6 games and tell me Carr has been good in the red zone?
Never said he was 🤷‍♂️.

I said there are lots of other factors at play and examining a QBs numbers or performance in the RZ in a vacuum doesn’t fly.

Just like I’m sure there were plenty of factors that led him to be the best RZ QB in the AFC through December of 2020.

All that matters is winning games. Which we’re not doing. And there’s a lot more evidence that demoting PC makes a ton more sense than demoting Carr

He then proceeded to not throw another TD, an interception, and his red zone passer rating dropped to 17th among qualified QBs.
I agree that all that matters is us winning games, but we aren't winning games because we aren't scoring touchdowns when we are in prime position to do so.

the miscommunications could easily be between Carr and the OL. Our OL aren’t good enough to adapt to what’s happening in front of them. There’s no RAS point for intelligence and football IQ
I think it is with the receivers, too many plays with receivers in the same spot, or not breaking or reading the options corrrectly

I’ve heard of train wrecks before in regards to coaching staffs, but this one is legitimately just that.

You just have a bunch of people looking for answers, but no leadership to point them in the right direction. I know the players love and respect DA, I love that they have that. That’s something special, but just because they’d run through a wall for him that doesn’t make him a good head coach. It just makes him a coach that his defensive players respect.

The sad thing for him is, everyone loves a comeback story. Everyone would have loved to see his second chance go well, but at the end of the day he literally set himself up for failure. He gave himself NO CHANCE. He surrounded himself with mediocre offensive coaches knowing good and well his forte is defense. He needed very strong offensive coaches to counter his weaker areas as a coach.

How anyone in this world can get a second chance like he did, set up with a pretty talented roster (especially in year 2), in a rather awful division, and then pi$$ it all away depending on Pete Carmichael is simply beyond me. It blows my mind. You’re attaching your last chance as a HC to this guy!?? Really??? He keeps showing you who he is and you refuse to believe it. Unreal
This is one of the contributing factors of why he’s not a good Head Coach. He just won’t make a decision even if the problem is starring him in the face. 🤷🏽‍♂️

He also said this about the red zone problems: Yeah. Look. I wish I had the answer to that because if I had the answer, we'd have it fixed,"

So he really has no plan or clue on how to fix the scoring problems. Just what I want to hear from our head coach. Going to keep doing what we are doing.

Don't forget the all time classic: "We have to find a way to utilize Kamara."

How bout bobby slowik
Probably gonna stay with the HC who gave him a chance, especially since he gets to work with CJ Stroud so closely.

I think the only chance the Saints have at pulling an NFL OC is if a guy feels like he’s operating in the shadow of a head coach who calls the plays and thus absorbs most of the glory, and he wants out of that arrangement… but in today’s NFL, those guys tend to move on to head coach positions. It might take looking at a QBs coach or a mid-major collegiate OC who wants to come up a level.

everybody is looking for a culprit but what if it just takes time for this team to gel? it's only been 6 games and they have gradually gotten better. I'd say give it 3 more games before making any major moves.
How long has it taken the Texans to gel with a rookie QB and a rookie Head Coach?
