PFF - have y'all seen this (2 Viewers)

Y'all trying to beat up on him for red zone efficiency and comparing him to Dalton shows you haven't really watched him play much.
And others could say that the over reliance of the "4th QTR/OT comebacks" argument shows the same thing. Apparently, those in Raider Nation have been complaining about the RZ for YEARS and this actually coincided with them being bottom 10 in scoring in multiple seasons and Carr's TD rate also finding itself there. And as I said earlier, the weapons argument don't fly, considering we probably had one of, if not, the worst group with an injured O-line in 2021 and for the first half of the season, we were the best in the league in the RZ. RZ is on the coaching AND the QB. That's why I always say, all that "cliché" BS that Underhill and Ross talks about when reporting on Carr ("read defense," "call protection," "multiple plays," "change plays at the line," etc) don't mean crap if you can't get the ball into the endzone. Then it becomes (everyone else's fault).

But at the end of the day, if you don't think Carr's red zone issues are worrisome, you are dismissing a very important element. I hope he can turn it around but if he shows that he hasn't and can't, they need to make the red zone, "The Taysom Zone."

I was just going to chime in on this. Under gruden, they were a very good rz team. The west coast offense gives you this because the pass is also used as the running game. I wonder what Tom Brady's rz rate was under McDaniels. I have never understood the flirtation with him to make him a HC. He failed in Denver, and he's failing in Las Vegas.

Raiders RZ Conversion Rate:
2018 - 22nd (53.49%)
2019 - 22nd (52.89%)
2020 - 23rd (54.24%)
2021 - 29th (49.23%)
2022 - 26th (48.94%)

Raiders RZ Conversion Rate =/= Carr's RZ efficiency.
I agree to a point until you peel back layers. I'm not saying that it is all Carr but there is rarely ever a time where QB RZ efficiency doesn't translate. Now, honestly, I don't know if this guy is a Carr hater or not, but in that crazy Derek Carr is "the worst QB inside the 10" craziness on Twitter last week, this guy pulled this stat out:

As I said before, I'm not going to put it all on Carr, as coaching is just as important, but these aren't the prettiest things to look at. Again, I hope that this changes here.

And before "weapons" get brought up, we (as Saints fans) have 2021 to look back at.

Carr is going to look terrible under PC playcalling

DA should have bought a permanent offensive coach to help and oversee the offensive side

Yes DA tried to light PC booty by bringing in Grudog but that was only for a few practices

there is no experienced competent modern offensive coach in this coaching staff

*No No No Ronald Curry will always be a receivers coach in my Dads eye

We have a lot to prove. Potential isn’t wins. Let’s see how it shakes out.

Raiders RZ Conversion Rate:
2014 - 1st (72.40%)
2015 - 9th (60.98%)
2016 - 14th (57.14%)
2017 - 7th (58.82%)

2018 - 22nd (53.49%)
2019 - 22nd (52.89%)
2020 - 23rd (54.24%)
2021 - 29th (49.23%)
2022 - 26th (48.94%)
I understand your argument is likely based on the article you linked that specifically stated the last 5 seasons, but posting those conversion rates while leaving out Carr's first four seasons where he started every game except for 2 (one in 2016 and one in 2017) and they excelled in the redzone (when they actually did get there) seems a bit cherrypicked.

On NFL Radio about a week ago, Pat Kirwan and Jimmy Miller were asked about the Saints prospects for 2023. Kirwan said that Saints fans will love Carr until they see him in the red zone, so it made me think that Kirwan posts here under the name @jahsoul357.

Pat also said that, while Carr is a good QB, to put yourself in the shoes of a fan for any of the Saints division rivals… is he so good that they think they won’t have a shot at the division? Both he and Miller said no, which admittedly was a punch in the gut because I like their show and their takes/analysis on the NFL.

As someone said earlier, we have to earn it this year. A QB who has been good but not great, and a HC without a winning season. I’d like to believe we made the right moves to turn it around this year, but we have to go out and win some games before anyone will see us as the clear top team in the NFCS.
Considering everything, we made the best possible moves to give our current coach, DA, a fair shot.. With that said, the worst case scenario is that DA totally fails and the team becomes rudderless by game 8. And at its worst point, DA and company cannot generate the confidence and motivation to right the ship. To be fair, It takes a special coach to be able to lead when the chips are down. So lets assume that its determined that we really need a head coach that takes control of the team and owns it. (Like SP owned the Saints) Considering we'd have Carr for a few more years, there's still a silver lining coach available to turn the ship around and lead a team for a decade. And that person has the MOST chemistry with Carr. Yep, if DA fails, the back up plan B: bring on Chucky! He'd be the complete coach we'd need. (ill admit that i havent looked at the evidence that got him fired, for the same reason i didnt watch Kamaras fight vid)
