PFW First Mock Draft (1 Viewer)

I dunno, Beck didn't look good this season and, as you said, it's new management. Plus, at #1 you almost have to go QB and I doubt they'll be able to trade down.

To be honest, no one in Miami looked good this season.

1. Miami--Chris Long
2. St.L.--Glenn Dorsey
3. Atl.--Jake Long
4. Oak.-- Sedrick Ellis
5. K.C.--Ryan Clady
6. Jets-- Darren McFadden
7. N.E.-- Vernon Gholston
8. Balt.-- Mike Jenkins
9. Cin.--Kentwan Ballmer
10. N.O.-- Quinton Groves

I think the opposite is true. With Parcells now in charge, he is more likely to take either a offensive or defensive lineman or maybe a running back. Also, the team has contacted Trent Green about coming back and has Lemon and Beck. I don't see them going QB at all.

It'll be interesting to see what Parcells does. Don't forget it was Parcells that told Sean Payton to "forget about building for the future, you need to win now" when deciding whether to go after Drew Brees or draft Matt Leinart. I doubt Parcells drafts another QB. But who knows? It's not like Randy Mueller left a fully stocked cupboard. The 'Phins are team of old, old veterans and very little young talent "winning now" might not be an option.....

Groves Stock is dropping like a fly. His injury forced him to withdraw from the Senior Bowl and may be more serious than people thought. He could drop pretty far down. No way we take him at #10. Mike Jenkins withdrawing will hurt him more than it helps. Guys like Terrell and Godfrey are opening a lot of eyes. He also won't be able to distinguish himself from Talib and Cason. The only thing that may save him now is his 40 time and shuttle.

Parcells is running the show now and picking a QB that high just isn't his style. Picking Ryan #1 would result in a huge cap figure for a position that isn't a big need. Parcells would like to bring in a veteran signal caller, and turn the reigns over to him. Plus he does have Beck and he could be groomed.

The pick is Chris Long. He just seems like a Parcells guy. The Dolphins need to get younger on D, and Long is the most likely choice. Dorsey just doesn't fit the scheme and McFadden doesn't fit Parcells' draft philosophy (C. Martin 3rd, J.Jones 2nd, and M.Barber 4th.). The other choice would be Jake Long, T Michigan, cause Parcells likes to build from the ball out.
