NEWCLEUS (Jam On It) this was the best of the 80's in one song. Rap, Breakdancing, Synthesizer, Echo Effect, Space Theme, Big Glasses...they even worked in the word Dolomite.

I STILL have that cassette! Good call.

Lest we forget:

I never was all that crazy about the song, but it was an interesting video.

Here's several more I though of over the last few days:

Maybe my favourite "one hit wonder" song - Big Country: In A Big Country
Steve Forbert: Romeo's Tune
The Vapors: Turning Japanese (the rock band I was in when I lived in OKC used to play this song)
The Korgis: Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime (Supertramp soundalikes who disappeared as quickly as they appeared)
Bruce Cockburn: Wondering Where the Lions Are (Cockburn's music is hard to categorize, almost jazz/country or jazz/folk fusion, and I have a few of his albums. He's a great writer, but his music generally is not top 40 friendly, so it's sort of amazing he ever had a hit at all)
The Boomtown Rats: I Don't Like Mondays (technically, this song is from '79, but so is "Video Killed the Radio Star" so I'm throwing it in)

I always liked Joe Jackson's "Is She Really Going Out With Him?".

Probably doesn't classify as a one-hit wonder. I think he's more of a 2 or 3 hit wonder.

Another from 1985:
'Til Tuesday: Voices Carry (Cindy Lauper actually wrote the song; none of the band's own music ever even made it onto the radio)
