So, last week, I was shopping at the Giant supermarket in Vienna and there is a Popeye's next door. They had a sign touting their chicken sandwich. So I decided to drop in on a whim and grab one. This was late afternoon after the big rush. Surprisingly, no line. Ordered the spicy chicken sandwich combo with fries.

So I'm watching the guy manning the register go to the back and grabs a tray full of already prepped sandwiches. Got my order and went home. When I took the sandwich out of the wrapper and took a bite of the large piece of chicken hanging out of the bun, it wasn't too bad, but not not quite the crispy Popeye's skin I'm used to. Bit into the sandwich and eww, it was soggy and mushy. So I opened the bun and the entire bottom half of the chicken had no breaking at all. It looked nasty.

I've ordered their regular chicken before at the location and it wasn't bad, but the way they prep the sandwiches is terrible. There is another Popeye's in Fairfax, so I might give them a shot next month and see if it's any better.

Chick-Fil-A has a better chicken sandwich than what I got at Popeye's. I suspect that's an anamoly. But, that's my experience so far.

I had the spicy one a couple of days ago and it was good. Zero people in the drive through. I wouldn't say it changed my life or anything but I would get it again. I would prefer removing the pickles and adding BLT to it or at least have a couple more pickles on it, only had a couple of bites with them. Also the cashier was nice, no rudeness at all.

As happenstance would have it, I’m walking by the one on Canal street on the way to work and had to pee. When I go in there is hardly a line. In fact, there were three people. So as I promised, I waited behind 3 people. That is how I will rate the sandwich. It’s a three person line sandwich. And I’m having my second in two days.

Finally got one(spicy) from the DeGaulle location. I don't even see how there's a debate between this sandwich and Chik-Fil-A's. I mean, like I said before, I enjoy CFA and all, but this this sandwich blows theirs away. Bigger, more flavor, crispier batter, and it's actually pretty dang spicy. Is it worth all the lines and chaos that were previously reported? Nope. But, IMO, nothing is.

I have officially joined the club. I decided to treat my dad to lunch today and we both got one. I can honestly say that it is a damn fine sandwich. The chicken was fresh, juicy, and just out of the cooker. The bread, mayo, and pickles just wrap it up so well. Best part is that I didn't have to wait long at all.

My kid was getting grumpy from lack of Popeyes chicken so I picked up some chicken and a couple chicken sandwiches last night.

It was good sandwich. I give it a Punch You in the Face, but definitely not a Stab You rating.

It's not as severe as the rating system you used.
This rating system is on par with a beat down in a department store on Black Friday when 32" TV's go for $25.

I wish they gave me a better sandwich here. I'll probably try again at a different location. We'll see. But being in Virginia, I'm not getting my hopes up too much.

Tbh, I'm not a fan of the spicy part being a sauce. I'd rather it be infused in the chicken like their traditional fried chicken. It seems to me the sauce makes the chicken skin soggy if it's been sitting for a bit.
