Popeye's Chicken Sandwich (1 Viewer)

I am not dying on any hill. And by all means, eat all the sandwiches you want; I am pretty sure they are delicious. But make no mistake, the behavior we are seeing around these sandwiches, is a fad generated by social media hype.

I think the behavior is just because people start acting a fool when they’re forced to wait in long lines.

BORING
Can you tell this story in a meme or funny video??

People wait in long lines all the time in many different places.

This "phenomenon" , it is not people behaving a certain way because they are hungry or the sandwich is so delicious you are going to stab a fool for it, it is because they want to be part of the fad. No different from parents fighting over the hot toy at the toy store during Christmas season.

I've had the sandwich 1/2 dozen times now (going back to the original launch) and have never waited more than 20 minutes from walking in the door to walking out with my food.

That said, they have the store on St. Charles plastered with advertisements about ordering online and a separate register for pickups. Today I thought to myself if it will save a few minutes lets try it. Downloaded the app and wouldn't you know it, in traditional Popeye's customer service fashion, the sandwich is nowhere to be found when ordering on either their website or app.

I had another one today. Nice and easy drive up. Typical popeyes customer service. It's a good sandwich, I love CFA but the Popeyes one beats it. I wont wait 30 minutes for it though.

I expect the app express line is more for people wanting the actual Popeyes chicken so they don't have to wait behind a long line of people getting sandwiches. People jsut wanting a chicken leg must be just as aggravated about the lines as the sandwich customers.

That makes sense and you almost convinced me... except the website still has a "be back soon" stamp over the chicken sandwich icon.

I think the most likely explanation is the IT department is still on break.

Sure, because people never behaved this way before while waiting in lines at restaurants, Black Friday, etc. before social media... lol

I witnessed that kind of behavior first hand when I was still dialing up Earthlink, long before Zuckerberg ever stole his idea from the Winklevoss twins. In 1950, someone like you blamed rock and roll for society's ills. Before that, it was letting women vote or those dangs kids with their hoops and push sticks.

People are dumb. You don't need marketing and social media to bring that out in them...

This is my conundrum. I wanted some chicken and red beans, but wasn't going to wait with the line out the door for dine in and down the street for drive thru.

do you want the Coca-Cola, or do you want to want the Coca-Cola?

Anyone frequent the Popeyes in Fairfax, VA?

If I go to a Popeye's and they *aren't* serving me off a tray that sits on a trash can, I find another Popeye's.

That's a sure sign of a Popeye's I cannot trust.

Pretty much this.. I was dismissive of pho until destiny led me to the place with dirty dishes piled up on the floor outside the restroom and flies coming in the back door. That place right there; was amazing.
