Thunder and lightning hitting the ms coast now. I could read a newspaper outside now.

One of my friends who lives in St. Bernard and another one who is in Arabi both told me that the tornado missed their houses by a mere few streets/blocks, but they're ok. I'm so relieved. And to think that I was griping about not having power for 5 hrs in Da Metrys... Gratitude indeed...

2 majors for sure ..2017 and now 2022.

My niece heard the roar of the tornado before it hit her house. She barely got into the bathroom.

we'll know for sure soon. My guess would be an ef3. They can flatten homes here even with our hurricane codes. F4's
usually strike the northern parts of LA.MS.and ALA.

My niece’s house in Arabi; gone! They scurried into the bathroom in the nick of time! They were lucky to survive as the rest of the house fell in around them. Neighbor across the street was trapped under their collapsed house and had to be rescued.

Niece has been contacted by GMA and wanting to interview her.

Nope. Sad part is, the house was badly damaged from Ida and was just recently finished being repaired! Unbelievable!

You can see it growing into a beast on live TV.

When she says "it might be lifting" and you see the bottom jumped a bit - and then it consolidates and gets bigger. I wonder if that moment was when it hopped the river?
