Rattler's Jump Pass (7 Viewers)

Unless the back jukes the linebacker 4 yards away, that wouldn't have gone anywhere so the deep pass was the correct read, Rattler's just not used to safeties who can close that fast yet, so didn't know he needed to put it further downfield, or just isn't used to throwing that route yet.
A learning moment.

That linebacker got caught flatfooted. If you hit him in stride it's a gain. Even if it's a no gain that's better than a pick. It was 1st and 10 not 3rd and 10.

My dream scenario for next game vs the Raiders (I know this is a really low bar for a dream scenario lol) is to see Rattler start with Kamara, Olave, MVS, and McCoy healthy and available. I just want to see what Rattler can do with a healthy OL, some of our top weapons and not playing against a team that is clearly better than us.

Rattler has all the tools, the dude has high school WR's and OG's to play with right now.

I promise you Rattler isn't our issue lol
Rattler is part of the problem. He constantly misses open receivers and doesn’t see many that are open. Frequently he takes too long to release the ball. It is amazing how much better a line performs when a QB releases the ball on time and knows how to move in the pocket. Rattler is good at moving in the pocket, but often has to do so because he has held the ball too long. For example, there was a receiver wide open in the middle about 10 yards downfield on the play he threw that int. Rattler locks on his target and the secondary knows it. He has plenty of arm strength, and is mobile, but his accuracy and decision making are part of the problem.

I got excited on that play. Dude was really trying to make something out of nothing. Despite all of the things going against him, he still has to go out there and try to make something happen. Show that he can be the potential starter next season. Its hard to judge when there's only backup skill, not a complete line and a strong opponent, on the road, in the cold. He moves well, had some really good passes that were dropped. I see a Baker Mayfield style of play. Not afraid to run and buy time with his legs. I'd love to see this dude get some wins and some confidence and see the real Rattler come out.

If we are truly cleaning house, I think Rattler covers the QB position for the next few years and either he becomes the guy or holds it down until we find the guy. I like Carr. If we didn't have all the injuries, I think Carr was on his way to a pro-bowl season. We are just not in a good position to double down on what we have now, again.

So you are describing a rookie. Got it.

People expect Rattler to be playing like Brees. He is a rookie with 4 games under his belt. What do rookies do? Make plays that leave you in awe, and make mistakes that make you scratch your head. He's playing like a rookie on a BAD team. Can't expect miracles. He almost pulled one out against Washington. Not saying he's our answer, but I think he's showed enough to keep getting a look.

He's a 5th round QB who lost his head coach, has no oline, no weapons, no RB and is running for his life. Like i'm sorry but tom brady would suck on this team.

The guy had "Deer in the headlights" look every time he had to move past his first read and had a clean pocket (which granted, wasn't often)

I'd like to see that too. But there are still scenarios where despite lack of weapons, he gets a clean pocket, and either misses a read entirely, is late on the decision to throw or makes a bad throw.

Healthy weapons don't fix that. What we can't gauge fairly right now is how often it is because those clean pockets are happening so rarely. To be completely fair, it may not happen often if his confidence increases with the top talent on the field with him. If that's the case, then he can make a solid case to put resources into growing him.

Probably shocked beyond belief he had a clean pocket once or twice, or deer in headlights because all his WRs suck. He has shown to be able to go trough reads. When you are always running for your life the one or two times you don’t have to it doesn’t matter, the damage is done and your internal clock to get rid of the ball is shorter. If you’re used to only having time for 1 read, you’re only gonna make 1 read.

Carr isn't even a great QB and he makes the offense look 1000% better behind the same Oline. Brady would have us competing for a Wildcard.
Carr had wayyyyyy more weapons than rattler ever had, also yes, Carr is a pro bowl QB, you’re surprised he outperforms a 5th round rookie? Okie dokie then.
