Rattler's Jump Pass (2 Viewers)

Carr had wayyyyyy more weapons than rattler ever had, also yes, Carr is a pro bowl QB, you’re surprised he outperforms a 5th round rookie? Okie dokie then.

No. I'm surprised anyone thinks he may be good enough to be a future QB1 when he's 1000% worse then an above average - average QB. Even if you want to compare him to other rookies, he's not good. At all. Jayden Daniels makes him look like a high school QB. Rattler even makes Will Levis look good.

I'd be so very curious to see what would happen if jayden and rattler swapped teams right now lol

Unless the back jukes the linebacker 4 yards away, that wouldn't have gone anywhere so the deep pass was the correct read, Rattler's just not used to safeties who can close that fast yet, so didn't know he needed to put it further downfield, or just isn't used to throwing that route yet.
A learning moment.
There wasn't enough room in the freezer to practice that throw.

He's a 5th round QB who lost his head coach, has no oline, no weapons, no RB and is running for his life. Like i'm sorry but tom brady would suck on this team.
That has been the case most of the season. Carr did much better, yet gets skewered. Haener did terrible last week with the same lack of weapons, and then Rattler did much better when Washington started playing softer, but all I heard was Haener wasn’t it. I agree, but Rattler also hasn’t looked good. Accuracy and decision making is hard to fix. Drilling balls that should be softer is a problem many strong armed QBs never fix. Trying to fit balls into tight spaces, not seeing the field, and not focusing on your target are all problems that are usually not fixed. Maybe he’ll fix them, but I see a lot of excuses being made for him. It seems to me Carr is the only good QB we have, and I’d be happy to ride with him with some weapons and protection. Rattler and Haener both are far behind, but I see a lot of deficiencies in both that may not be fixable.

For one thing... his offense.

Curious what you thought about this one. Rattler’s 3rd start. All we were missing was Shaheed and McCoy on offense. Personally I think Carr is the only QB on the roster we can win with.

I'm not thinking that Rattler is anywhere near ready to run an NFL offense. And I'm in no way trying to defend him or trying to insert him as our future starting QB. The entire offense has underperformed since Week 3, and it really hasn't made a difference who has been under center. As it stands right now the Saints problems on offense are far more than finding the right quarterback. The way that Green Bay was slicing through our offensive line was humiliating. The Monday night game was an indication of how far the Saints are from being a legitimate contender in this league both offensively and defensively. Rattler may never be a difference maker, but the entire offense was missing against the Packers both physically & mentally.

It's a shame that the Saints have had such a total seasonal collapse on a year with a very weak draft coming up. There are no standout linemen in the bunch and there is no 'Jayden Daniels' that we could move up to grab in the hopes of starting the (absolutely necessary) rebuild. To say that the near future is bleak for this team is a HUGE understatement.

Me too. I doubt we would agree, but I suspect Jayden Daniels would've at least gotten us 14 pts Monday night and I wouldn't rule out 28. But I think we both agree we still would've lost.
Agreed

When rattler is put in a position to succeed and not be on the worst offense I’ve ever seen in my life I will judge him.

He had it against the chargers and couldn’t do anything. He’s a 5th round pick. This may be the only shot he ever gets.

Yeah I'm not sure. The follow up pass looked a little like maybe he doesn't have the arm he needs at this level. It looked like he could have put ten more yards on the throw and hit Foster for a TD
This comment is wrong!
He could have put 20 more yards on it and the deep DB would have intercepted it.
Rattler has a strong arm... it had nothing to do with the INT.
He threw into double coverage that was executed extremely well by the Packer's...

What was disappointing about the play was there wasn't a underneath route that would have kept the low DB from getting involved in the coverage of Foster...
Rattler's mistake is he didn't recognize the double coverage!

Which is a rookie mistake!

Rattler is part of the problem. He constantly misses open receivers and doesn’t see many that are open. Frequently he takes too long to release the ball. It is amazing how much better a line performs when a QB releases the ball on time and knows how to move in the pocket. Rattler is good at moving in the pocket, but often has to do so because he has held the ball too long. For example, there was a receiver wide open in the middle about 10 yards downfield on the play he threw that int. Rattler locks on his target and the secondary knows it. He has plenty of arm strength, and is mobile, but his accuracy and decision making are part of the problem.
You can say this for just about EVERY rookie quarterback that has stepped foot on an NFL field. Sounds like you’re talking about Jordan Love as a rookie, and many others. Mind you, up to just recently Jordan Love was one of the leading QBs in the interception category. Young QBs have all sorts of issues even beyond their rookie season. I tell you what: go back and look at Drew Brees during his rookie year, then copy and paste what you said about Rattler. It’ll be spot on. Rattler is simply learning his lessons like everyone else before him, all of which will be helpful as he continues to develop in the NFL.

There is absolutely NO WAY Daniel’s would have put up 14 points with this depleted Saints team. In fact, I believe Daniel’s would have ended up in the tent with a broken ‘something’ that would have prevented him from returning. Lol
