Relax, we will rebound in Week 4 and beyond (1 Viewer)

It's a bummer that we lost this one.

The good news is that the hapless Sean Payton led Bucs beat Tampa. Atlanta plays KC tonight. And the Falcons are going down next week.

Would anyone have been bummed if I told you we would be 2-1 after week three? Nope.
But we should be 3-0, so that does sting a little bit

gift-wrapped games like this.
Did we watch the same game today?? We were completely outplayed and had no business even being in it much less winning given how poorly the offense played.

Had we pulled it out, we would've absolutely stolen it from them the same way the Falcons did to them last week.

Just because we still actually had a chance to tie it in the last minute doesn't mean it was "gift-wrapped". Hardly.

I warned this week this was a terrible spot for the Saints with the Eagles losing at the last second on Monday. It was a prime letdown opportunity, and if we don’t lose our OL, we probably still win.

This is the NFL. We weren’t going undefeated. The Bucs got blasted by an 0-2 team today. We are still tied for the division.

The Falcons game will be a completely different setup. Trust me.
I think the Saints win if Hill plays, even after losing McCoy.

Siriani was coaching to lose. In all honesty, we should have been up 3 scores going into the fourth even with an average outing from our offense. His decision to pass on 3 points prior to half time was so bad that I'd actually wonder if he was pointshaving. He passed on 3 points from inside the 20, just so he could maybe attempt ONE shot into the endzone before in all likelihood having to take 3 anyway.

Even with all that we had going against us, we clutched up and took a lead with 2 minutes. All we had to do was not let ONE GUY beat us. My concern isn't with the result of this game in a vacuum, it's just that we continue we have to have this same conversation of DA's lack of football awareness late in games over and over again.

To see it in person was bad. With McCoy possibly out an extended period with a groin issue this is a different offense. Patrick was beaten terribly all game. Will he get better after practicing all week? I think so.

The more concerning thing is we got punched in the mouth all game and had no answer on defense. That was a bad display of football.

I thought this was a litmus test game for this team. We failed. Dallas looks like a bad team.

Let’s see what adjustments we make but you know the Falcons are going to watch a lot of tape offensively and defensively and be licking their chops.

We better figure it out quickly because if we go 2-2 then you are probably 2-3 after going to KC the next week.

I'm sure a lot of folks said that after the Green Bay collapse in week 3 last year. Fumbling games that are gift-wrapped to you will always come back to bite you.

Even more concerning, our head coach is showing the same flaws with a lack of game awareness with his playcalling in end-of-game situations. The 3rd and 16 play-call was wildly bad and goes to show that he still continues to lack fundamental awareness late in games.

In the standings are we really that hurt? Probably not. But it's a greater concern that we aren't showing growth in that area.

Green Bay was a very different game. They had a big lead and then the offense did absolutely nothing after Carr got hurt which let Green Bay come back from a big deficit. This was a close game for the entire game that was decided when Harris and Lattimore ran into each other on a fluke play.

In addition, that team had not shown any ability to be good on offense or run the ball. This team isn't as good as it looked in weeks 1 and 2 but it's a better team than it was last year by a decent margin. We can run the ball when the OL is healthy and we have more pass rush and more depth at LB and DB than last year.

Fangio just had a great game plan to stop our offense and was helped by the McCoy injury. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to a coach on the other team that gets it done. This wasn't Green Bay where the offense stopped moving the ball and the defense collapsed. In fact the defense held up extremely well when you consider how much time they spent on the field without the offense moving the ball. Better than what they did against Green Bay last year.

Every year every good team has a stinker of a game. I’d rather get it out of the way early
i'd rather it be against an AFC team. hope I'm wrong, but this feels like a game that's gonna cost us a tie-break scenario at the end of season. despite being a "stinker", we had the victory in hand, and proceeded to let it slip through our fingers in the final 2:00, like so many times before. I was starting to eat the cheese, but now I'm snakebit again, and surrounded by Philly fans in the south-central PA region. Gonna hear "WE DAT!" for several weeks now...

If there's a silver lining here, trying to talk myself into that. IF the Eagles are a playoff-caliber team, perhaps even 1 of the 2 favorites in the NFC (assuming 9ers are other), perhaps we showed we belong in that conversation too? Perhaps....stay tuned...

Absolutely agreed.

I thought this exactly. The Green Bay loss came to haunt N.O. It set a snow ball effect. By the Time N.O over came thier struggles. It was too late

I actually loved our ability to fight and stay in it, and our offense finding a way to clutch up despite Philly's defense really bringing it paired with our injuries. What I didn't love is our inability to close out a game on the defensive side of the ball when the odds say it's secured in our favor.

Yep and the defense vomitted that game away. I blame this more on the defense than the offense. You can always play good defense, but you cant always play good offense. For 90 percent of teams the offense struggles most of the time

I don’t think it’s gonna be the same thing. It’s a gut check from being on a two week high, but it’s better to get chin checked week 3. This loss is solely on the coaches.

Minus the last desperate throw, Carr took care of the ball, played average with a great TD throw. Was under duress way to much to be effective .

Alvin played with that was given him,

The oline got destroyed 99% of the game. But eagles have one of the beefiest dlines in the game, it was to be expected.

What do you mean we had no answer on defense? We only gave up 15, had multiple turnovers, multiple sacks, and multiple turnovers on downs. Them and special teams blocking a punt were the only reason we didn't get blown out today. This loss is all on our lack of OL depth. McCoy is our best one, but any of them getting injured is a catastrophe. I know people want more playmakers and we do need them, but they won't matter if we can't block anybody, so we need OL depth. People won't like it, but we may need to draft another OL in the first next year, or 2nd if there are a lot of good ones coming out.
