Rename Lee Circle “Brees Circle” and put up a statue of Drew (2 Viewers)

There isn't anything more unifying than the Saints. Old, young, black, white, orange, men, women.

Fleur de Lis Circle. It could still be called Lis (pronounced "Lee") Circle for short, and it's naming can be promoted predominately as a tribute to our French heritage, while still allowing it to be "interpreted" as a tribute to our SAINTS team, for those who choose to see it as such.

Being that the Circle is very close to the WWII Museum, and that the museum basically started in large part because of the legacy of New Orleans and our connection to the various D-Days and their landing craft, I would suggest renaming it:

Higgins Circle.

Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander Europe said:

"Andrew Higgins ... is the man who won the war for us. ... If Higgins had not designed and built those LCVPs, we never could have landed over an open beach. The whole strategy of the war would have been different."

The monuments remain a contentious issue in our city, but I came up with the perfect solution:

Rename “Lee Circle” as “Brees Circle” and put a lifesized statue of Drew on top.

I’m pretty sure this is an idea the city can get behind.
No. No statues. Tear all of them down. No paintings of anyone either. No streets named after anyone.

Since there is no consideration for cultural norms of the past, age of the accused, time elapsed since bad behavior, etc., we should have zero monuments to anyone at all, and all people should be assumed to have committed some unpardonable sin.

Brees Circle I learned about the Higgins' boats in World History. Had an AWESOME Professor who LOVED his job. What's also a "trip" is that Hitler and the Germans were only WEEKS away from launching a new airplane that coud compete with the U.S. planes.

Excellent idea, though we already have Higgins Blvd. that runs next to the WWII museum. The Higgins District, perhaps.

I prefer players, even Brees, be kept in the vicinity of and specifically in relation to the dome. I do like the idea of an FDL, Jazz or Higgins memorial though.

Damn sure don’t name it for a politician
