"One possibility would be to add an eighth team to the playoff field in the AFC. This would eliminate the bye for the No. 1 seed.Article says AFC only
We don’t know anything yet . We are just dreaming…..So basically we still don’t really know anything lol
I think it’s more likely they put an 8th seed so they can make up a national game without having to put on Chiefs/Bengals.We don’t know anything yet . We are just dreaming…..
… REALLY HARD!!!
How bad would it look if they did this and the NFC 8th team won out and won the Super Bowl?"One possibility would be to add an eighth team to the playoff field in the AFC. This would eliminate the bye for the No. 1 seed.
To ensure competitive balance, there would have to be eight teams in the NFC, too.
The NFL Players Association would have to agree to a temporary expansion of the playoff field."
Yep. And some lucky NFC team will also get into the playoffs just to get the right balance of playoff teams this year.I think it’s more likely they put an 8th seed so they can make up a national game without having to put on Chiefs/Bengals.
Rams beat SeahawksYep. And some lucky NFC team will also get into the playoffs just to get the right balance of playoff teams this year.
Everyone here is still trying to figure out if such an adjustment to this year’s postseason could possibly produce a formula where the Saints to get that 8th seed.
Commanders need to lose as well, I think.Rams beat Seahawks
Saints beat Panthers
Packers beat Lions.
I think.
They don't even have to win the Super Bowl. Just imagine if the 8th seed in the NFC knocks out the 1 seed in the first round. This whole situation doesn't even have anything to do with the NFC.How bad would it look if they did this and the NFC 8th team won out and won the Super Bowl?
the team that should of never been there!
**** New Orleans Saints Super Bowl winner with an asterisk!
Yea but to make it fair the NFC would have to have the same format. NFC #1 seed in Super Bowl vs AFC team with no bye is not fair since NFC team had that bye week to rest some. They don't even have to win the Super Bowl. Just imagine if the 8th seed in the NFC knocks out the 1 seed in the first round. This whole situation doesn't even have anything to do with the NFC.
This makes the most sense. No one on either team seemed to want to play (understandably) so it should just be recorded as a tie.If the teams don't want to finish the game, just declare it a draw, and let the playoff berths fall where they may.
Not sure where you’re seeing that. PA said the NFL has not mentioned that to them. The Players Association is talking to the league right now about approving the 8th seed for the playoffs. It’s looking like the most likely scenario currently. We may still be in it lol
