We're pretty good at grooming o-line players. I think it's a good situation for him to sit, learn, grow, and hopefully be ready when we need him. Not sure how well he can contribute as a tackle eligible.

Reach all the way and a drastic one. This guy was going to go undrafted. Nobody will be able to convince me that there weren’t MUCH better options at this point. Take severe projects like him in the 7th..not in the 4th where you should be getting guys that can at least play special teams. This is not a good pick at all.
That’s me. I have nothing against the kid, but with so many guys available that I do want, I am perplexed that they felt the need to take this particular player this high. He might not have been drafted at all.
Always love O-line picks....
....but I am pretty ignorant to him....just by looking at the “talking heads” analysis of him, seems like a bit of stretch taking him in the 4th, not to mention it seemed odd that the front office took the entirety of its time to issue the pick....
I assume they were looking to trade down (and received no trades they liked)
I would love to have him too, but he seems more like a luxury pick. I think teams are nervous that if you select him, you'll have a hard time cutting him if he's on the bubble.
Man I prefer not to be negative, but I completely agree. Even if he pans out to be a decent backup, the value is awful. There were 12 OT's rated higher and countless players at other positions that would have presented much better value for the pick. I trust that our scouts identified something in him that moved him ahead of the other tackles, but you've gotta play your odds in cases like this where the player is SO far down the ratings list and gamble that he'll be there a bit later.
Seems like this draft we just don't care where someone is rated. We're just getting our guys regardless of where other teams may have them on their boards. Hope it works out.
