Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta is interested in buying the Saints (5 Viewers)

Nobody takes him seriously. He talks a big game, but it’s all marketing.

There are names in Houston to keep an eye on for sure, but his (Tillman’s) isn’t one of them.
He bought the Houston Rockets, he built his alma mater a new basketball stadium for the University of Houston, run Landry's business which has restaurants and casinos. What isn't serious about that?

I imagine it will be difficult since there are very few known billionaires in the area. Gayle was the richest with the assets of both teams.

Todd Graves (Raisin' Canes) is worth more the Mrs. Benson. He's worth $9.5 billion and Benson $6.6 billion. So I guess Graves is a possibility as far as "local ownership", but I'm not sure if he wants anything to do with the NFL or the Saints. He seems to be more of an LSU guy.

It's interesting you mention him. Someone in BR reminded me recently when we were discussing the whole NIL system that Graves moved Canes' corporate base to Texas some time back to save him on income tax-related costs. And so in the business world, someone is only as local as their own bottom line?

The official chicken fingers of the New Orleans Saints. At least there's that.

Yeah but Graves still is big in LSU NIL money and is a big LSU fan. He went to LSU and I think he is from the Baton Rouge area so he's about as local a billionaire as we have outside of Gayle Benson. And as someone mentioned, Canes is the official Chicken of the Saints so he still has his hand in LA and with the Saints.

Honestly, I found out a few months ago how much Graves is worth and I was shocked. I remember when he opened the first Canes outside the North Gates of LSU. I had no idea chicken fingers could make you that wealthy.

Bolded is the reason i brought him up with that buddy of mine. (y)

Probably taking this thread on way too much of a tangent, but those chicken fingers have become very small but overpriced pinky fingers in recent years. It's fajita-cut chicken and not actual breast cuts. I can do better and bigger in my air fryer, ha.

He could make them out of rabbits for all I care, if he would buy the Saints and commit to staying here another 50

I can see Graves giving it a try, but it’s gonna be difficult.
And I say that, because once the Saints are up for sale; there will be fight/bidding war.
The Saints are one of the top 45 valuable franchises in the world.
They are in the most high profile sports league in the country and one of the most high profile leagues in the world.
I knocked I misspoke in a previous post, but there is little competition in the Southeast in the pro landscape.
Someone with some cash can turn the Saints into the de facto football team of the Southeast like the Braves in baseball.

Rabbit or deer tenders might sell pretty well back home :giggle: With a little "petit pois" as the side.

Bottom line, though, I don't look for Gayle to up and sell the team for a while yet. And by extension, expect Loomis and Lauscha to stay in their places until they themselves decide to retire.
