I think it's ultimately better for Curry to get out of the building to build his resume more. And Buffalo is a really good steppingstone to an OC position down the road that he likely wouldn't have gotten by staying with the Saints.

Passing Game Coordinator is basically an assistant OC. Those are the guys that get promoted to OCs. Very rarely do you see an O-line coach or WR coach promoted to OC unless they've already done that before. It's more than a title.

It depends. The Texans did accomplish it quickly and can be a case study to compare how close we are to doing the same. I checked their entire staff for Shanahan connections, see below. Players: We know they had the elite intelligent QB required. But what about their O-line, did they already have a group of athletic olineman that had experience in the system? I checked their roster and found the below. Im not sure about their WR if they are elite blockers or have Shanahan/McVay exp or their Tes and RB. But judging by the list below, it seems apparent that we need multiple coaches w/ Shanhan system exp. Im not sure if we have any current players from that tree. So to answer the OPs question, we seem pretty far away. Feel free to add players to the list below

I hope it works out for Curry, but I still remember the last time Brady tried to create and implement his own offense as an OC and it wasn't pretty in Carolina. He did a great job calling plays for half the year in Buffalo, but being the OC that has to develop and install the scheme is a lot different from just having to call plays in a system that is already designed and implemented. He may well succeed, but it's a question Brady is going to have to answer.

I’m happy for him and think it’s a great spot for him to land in terms of the QB there and the team as a whole. That said, with the increase in teams going after OC’s (which is clearly Curry’s next goal) and HC’s with experience in the Shanahan/McVay system, im a little surprised he would pass up an opportunity to work within that system, even if as just a WR coach. Going to Buffalo under Brady firmly entrenches him in the same system he’s known for, which although not a bad thing per se, is not a system that’s as highly coveted when it comes to taking the next step.

Loomis was at the senior bowl scouting potential draft picks while DA stayed behind in New Orleans to interview candidates. Loomis had nothing to do with this hire but maybe negotiating a contract.

If you’re going to sound so confident at least be halfway right.

DA hasn't had a hand in the offense, since becoming head coach. He helped get Carr here perhaps, but nothing else. DA didn't interview/hire KK......Loomis did. I think it was Loomis who saddled DA w/ Pete. So, it will be Loomis/KK running things on offense.

I would like to change some things in this post. No one (KK) has been Interviewed/hired yet. I miss spoke on that.

I hope you guys are right on this being DA's hire, because I like the choice (KK). I just don't trust Loomis's football decisions.
