Anyone catch it last night? Wasn't as good as the first few seasons, but way better than Season 9 and certainly better than most on network TV at the moment.

that show was always awful and it's probably safe to assume that it will continue to be awful

I thought it was great. If you liked it before, you should like it now.

I hope it's not constantly political because it can get tiresome, but I was pleasantly surprised with last nights episodes.

Didn't watch it. I watched it the first time it aired for a couple of seasons, but just not a big fan of watching old recycled TV shows.

Didn't watch Will & Grace either. They've already had their run, just feels very "meh".

Seems like the show is trying too hard to fit in to today's society. Can definitely tell it hasn't been on the air for 20 or so years.

I never understood the appeal of shows like Roseanne that are supposed to be so ‘real’.. i remember way back when it first aired, it was celebrated because , oh theyre living paycheck to paycheck and they are fat slobs like most Americans.. why would anyone want to watch that? I mean, i get wanting to see things that are realistic that you would never get to experience, like a movie about Seal Team Six killing Bin Laden or something— it’s real but it’s stuff i dont see in my daily life.. but if you are a ‘typical American’, why would you want to watch something that is a reflection of your daily struggles? In general, i watch movies and tv shows for escapism, but that’s just me.

Just my opinion, it's funnier. Full House isn't realistic, nor any of those shows from the 80s when the networks went the opposite from the All in the Family/Jeffersons/Sanford and Son type of shows from the 70s.
I mean, some of those 80s shows are funny, but it's really predictable.

didn't dan die in the original series finale?

They played that off by suggesting that the original ending was just a fantasy from the book she was writing. I don't think they ever won the lottery in this version of their reality either.

Both Beckys were also in last nights episode.

thanks, i thought it was odd when i saw he was in the cast. i figured he would be a ghost.

I thought the laugh track was obnoxiously distracting. Other than that, I thought it was ok.

Laugh tracks never bugged me growing up in the 90's/early 2000's. Hell I don't think I really even noticed them. But after years of watching shows without them starting with the trendsetters (Arrested Development, The Office, 30 Rock) it's pretty much impossible to go back.

I'll never understand how BBT stays so popular. About the only show I can rerun like that is Raymond and that's simply because Marie and Frank are pretty much my grandparents and it cracks me up.

I bought the entire MASH series on DVD just so I can watch it without the laugh track.

sad that i know this but yes the end of the last episode had her sitting at the kitchen table in the same old house writing her "novel"

what she wrote was

they never did win the lottery
her sister was gay
Becky was really married to the big bang guy (forgot his name in the show)
Darleene was really married to Mark
Dan died
