Carr fits the category of just good enough to get you fired. Not a fan of Ross. I respect him and I do listen to him and John Hendrix from time to time. Like you said he is too rosey for me. But I give him more credit because he is around the team. With regard to Carr I am not the biggest Carr fan, but I am not the haters like some. I will defend him for the unnecessary criticism given. I know how he is way before we sign him. Wasn't all too excited about signing him but he was the best available within our price range. Admit it or not, he has been good. Looking at his games and the numbers, it was very good. It could of been better, but whatever. His situation is very tricky. I am all for what's best for the team. If a trade is offer and helps us to relieve our cap situation, then I hope both sides do it. Carr needs a fresh start and we need to move forward. As much as a good quarterback is needed which he is, everyone knows he isn't the future. Might as well start the future now.
An acquiring team would be looking at a two year deal worth $90m with $40m guaranteed. His $40m in earnings for 2025 rank 8th in 2025.Definitely a consideration. Is Carr's salary bubble still smaller than Daniel Jones' 2024 salary? I had thought Carr's salary per-year was pretty cheap for a starting NFL QB, but I don't know how loaded Carr's 2025 and 2026 numbers are.
That was not meant to be a diss aimed at Ross. ALL media guys make up "rumors" so they have something to talk about.I’ll take the peanuts and send ya the miller lite lol.
Yeah could be the case but I’m not used to seeing headlines like that from Ross. Maybe I just don’t pay enough attention.
Normally I would agree 100%, but Ross has earned my trust over the years. There may be something to this. Or not.Welcome to the offseason, where media guys have nothing to talk about so they just make things up.
I’d do it for a 4th. lol
Yeah, i dont think he’d want to NYG. That’s where QBs go to die lol…Not to mention, he has a no trade clause. Would he even want to go to the Giants?
Carr's $30 mil salary doesn't become guaranteed until 5 days after the new league year starts. So there may be a way to move some of his base salary to guaranteed salary (paid by the next team) to entice him to waive his no trade clause during that period. If he were straight up cut, he'd only get $10 million more and even that cap space would be recouped by the team if he signs somewhere else because he has offset language in his contract. Either way, we'd save the $10 million for 2025 at some point and he'd be off the books for 2026. But it would be nice to get even a late pick for him if one was out there.I'd send them more than a 4th if they also take Carr's contract.
I kid. Carr's a solid QB, but I do think it's time to move on to try to find the future at QB.
I agree with this. This just click bait while there is no head coach news. You could probably go to a giants board and see this has no substanceWelcome to the offseason, where media guys have nothing to talk about so they just make things up.
Have any of you heard this? First I’m hearing about it, haven’t watched yet, the title just popped up on my cell.
I’m not used to Ross being click bait, have followed him for a while now. He’s too sunshine and roses for me but I like him and haven’t noticed him being click bait.
Seriously doubt anything happens but I’d be all for it. Nothing at all against Carr I just don’t think he’s the future. No problem with him staying another season either tho.
