Safety Position? (3 Viewers)

Thats backed up by the fact that Harper was benched by coach. But he is a forum favorite so everything thinks he is a beast. He and Bullocks have alot of improving to do. This is probably the last year for Bullocks to prove himself.

I'm not a "thing".:mwink: I've been called things before, but that's different.:ezbill:

The benching was a sign, but that doesn't explain David's consistant time on the field.

Davids consistent time on the field was because Craft is just as bad and Fred Thomas looked like a schoolgirl anytime he got into a game this past year.

True, but for the same reason Harper got yanked, David should have too. Not for a whole game or anything, but pull the guy and show him that he can be pulled like anyone else. For the most part, pulling a guy is usually an effective way of getting the player to gain a new perspective on his play on the field. I think that should have been done in the same context as the Harper pulling. Besides, would that have been a bad or worse thing? David got burnt repeatedly and so would his replacement. No change really.:covri:

This is my pick for the 3rd round I hope he last that long. He comes from a small school and he has the measureables. Has anyone seen him play??

Tyrell Johnson, Arkansas State, 6-0, 207, 3rd: His first name is really Marcellous, but despite a dazzling career in the Sun Belt Conference, few NFL teams were familiar with any of his names until he was given a shot in the Hula Bowl.

After doing well there, he was invited to the combine, where he further validated his small-school accomplishments with an amazing performance that included a 4.41 time in the 40-yard dash and 27 repetitions with 225 pounds on the bench press.

On film, he shows all the instinct and athleticism necessary to play the game. Now somebody must roll the dice and see if he can make the jump to the NFL.

would about the griffin kid from UT. i heard him on Sirius yesterday. Very intelligent four year player. his brother plays for Titans. i wouldnt mind seeing him fall to the third round.

Maybe if we trade for the Cowboys' two 1-round picks...

If mcfadden is gone i see no reason why the cowboys would want to trade with us. Felix Jones will be there for one of their original picks. But if they did i think getting one of the top CBs', Kenny Phillips to solve the S position, and then maybe if still there Laws in the second. That would be my ideal and probably the best draft as far as all around upgrades.

Chris Reis should be given the go he played good last year.

How do you figure? Because he got burned before halftime but was able to make the tackle a yard short of the goaline on one play? Reis was a non factor last year and will be nothing more then Gleason part II.

If Reggie Smith falls to us in the 2nd round, we would be nuts to pass on a 1st round talent safety/cornerback. He can return kicks as well.

I think we'll see an improved play from Bullocks and Harper due to the upgrade at LB. The safeties won't have to play run first, which should allow them to play a bit deeper from the snap, which "should" eliminate the one-step-too-late positions on the deeper routes, as well as, having one more year of experience for both Bullocks and more importantly, Harper. While Bullocks certainly performed poorly last year, to me, it looked like Harper was the bigger problem in regards to being out of position, particularly on the deeper routes.

I think we will see improved play, and we should give them one more year to prove themselves. After all, a pair of 2nd rounders have been spent on Harper and Bullocks...so obviously (one would assume) the talent should be there.

Bullocks scares the beejeezus out of me... 2 years of big plays on that side of the field is no accident... we can rotate all of our CBs onto that side of the field... and Bullocks will continue to blow assignments and let receivers run free.

Kaes did well when he got playing time... I saw let them duke it out... and we should look in round 5 for a safety. You never know... there may be a diamond in the rough still around in the 5th.

I love this guy, i'd go far enough to say if he makes it to the 2nd round to trade up with somebody to get him, like trade our 2nd and 5th to move up like 8 spots to get him. Would a 5th allow us to move up that much??

I'd be very happy also if we trade up with someone to get Dorsey, like trade our #10 and 3rd pick to move up to get Dorsey. Then also trade up in 2nd by trading this year's 5th to move up to get Reggie Smith. Imagine the major impact these two players would have on our defense.

btw How far could we move up with our first if we traded our 3rd to move up?? Like 3-4 spots??

http://www.nfldraftscout.com it has a list of all the players coming out broken down by position and where they project to be drafted. This will give you some unbiased info the players out there.

I see Jamie Silva as that diamond. I watched a couple of BC games and he is very talented.
