McDermott has done a good job with Allen. Quinn with Daniels. Ryans with Stroud.
Ahh, Stroud. Forgot all about him.
Maybe I could warm up to Weaver. Definitely over Kafka.

We are reaching that level of desperation. But what’s missing in this conversation is can any of the coordinator candidates lead a large group of men, and be the face of the franchise, having to deal with the media, fan pressure, and ownership. It takes much larger shoulders to handle the HC job compared to a coordinator position.Right. Correct in all. But what are we going to do with that exactly? Have a good defense and no franchise QB so our odds at deep playoff runs are extremely unlikely? Or are you expecting a defensive head coach to accurately assess QB talent, groom that QB into a successful franchise QB which has only happened like once or twice in the NFL over the past 10 years when compared to offensive head coaches who have done it closer to a dozen times in the same duration?
I'm struggling to understand exactly what we're shooting for here. Just to be competitive during the season? Have we reached that level of desperation?
Lets see the Dolphins defense was not good and the Giants offense was pitiful.I was thinking the same thing, especially the Giants’ OC.
.500 is pretty optimistic. Both of these candidates would be incredibly underwhelming.
I know a load of Saints fans would get their hopes up to a new beginning. But this screams to me that we'll be a .500 team on average at best and constantly picking 8 - 21 every year in the draft for a handful of years.
Being the Qb coach for Mahomes is the equivalent of being a pitching coach for Nolan Ryan. Anyone will look good in that role.Anyone who likes Kafka will say he was Mahomes’ QB coach. Anyone who doesn’t will say he was Daniel Jones’ OC.
Exactly. Hopefully just due diligence but it’s laughable. The Dolphins and Giants are not teams I’d be looking to for coaches.
This is just to make everyone feel better when it’s McCarthy
Impossible for you to say. Nobody knows this unless you where in that QB room.
Maybe he can turn into a cockroach. That would at least be interesting.Kafka must have impressed them; he is an up-and-coming coach, and league circles have him marked as such.
This. And the Saints have to be in Rooney Rule compliance. Everyone has to let the process play itself out.I don't know enough about these two coaches to have an opinion. But I do like that we are considering candidates who are not necessarily at the top of their national lists. If they think one of these two is the right guy, they should go for it. Apparently, both have been impressive in interview with multiple teams in recent years.
This. I do not want a situation where the media and fan sentiment dictate the hire. That's how we got Mike Ditka.I don't know enough about these two coaches to have an opinion. I mean we have Mahomes Lite right ?Anyone who likes Kafka will say he was Mahomes’ QB coach. Anyone who doesn’t will say he was Daniel Jones’ OC.
