Dark days. Can’t wait for the Carr era to be over.

This is his final year. Will definitely be designated post 6/1. So half of that will hit the cap in 2026, half in 2027.
This was always the most likely scenario.
Carr could have agreed to add void years without new dollars, it would be a poor look for him to not do that for the team.
Edit: he already has enough void years in his deal to maximize cap savings.
They were both designated as post June 1 cuts last year, which let all dead money after 2024 get charged in 2025.Did we ever solve the question as to what lever was used on the contracts of Winston and Thomas that has allowed their cap hits to be still be getting taken off the books all the way now in 2025?
There’s something we are doing that’s allowing the hits to spread out further, years out even after the player isn’t on the team, but I haven’t put my finger on it.

How did he do that exactly?Mickey reared back and booted the BEJEEZUS out of that can.
That’s why everyone is going to scream at Mickey, he’s chosen to hamstring the team. Moore just ate a crap sandwich of a past coaches bad decision on Carr and now his cap hit next year.We are in a better place next year to eat $60 million in dead money than we are to eat $50 million in dead money this year (assuming Carr doesn't perform).
Everyone is gonna scream at Mickey, but there wasn't much of a choice here. This was the most realistic way to set up Carr's departure.
And even though it's not a popular position, Kellen Moore wanting a starting QB to work with is understandable.
