Saints don’t think Mark Ingram will be 100 percent when camp starts (1 Viewer)

PT is the man, coupled with Sproles and Ivory...I love Ingram's game, but Im 100% sure we'll be cool. And when Ingram's full go, he'll add that much more to our rotation.

This.

I don't look at it this way, and you shouldn't either. We run by committee. We will never be like Atlanta or Minnesota. Pierre has always been our feature back, but its critical for us to have depth and versatility. I don't believe that the staff is trying to "replace" Pierre at all.

Watching Earl Campbell on youtube and Ivory actually is a little similar with his speed and power combination. Ingram can take his time and actually EARN some playing time while Ivory gets the bulk if the carries.

I see more Adrian Peterson in Ivory than any other player...Ingram will be fine, those that dont like him will just (are just) using this as an excuse to why they didnt agree with the pick...surgery was not a season ender or career threatening injury...Colston has knee surgery every year sometimes during the season and still his his benchmark or 75+ catches and 1,000yrds.

Last year I was hoping Ingram would be so good it would force the Saints to essentially abandon the RBC. However he is just another cog in the wheel.

I'm a big fan of Deuce, but I really hope Ingram doesn't start to have nagging injuries every season like Deuce d
id over his career.

It's a shame Deuce wasn't able to stay healthy. He was an excellent RB even with his injuries

Omg here we go again.. ingram was drafted for a reason and he has eared his chance and was doing really well until he got injured.

3.9 ypc aint earning a thing compared to what ivory does . At least three of his Td's were goal line gift wrapped. Now thats it I don't want to start this again . Ivory will now get his due and Ingram can hit the IR for all I care.

Ingram was our short yardage back because he was the best at the job and being in on those short carries contributed to a 3.9 avg. The saints were one of the worst teams in the league converting short yardage before ingram. Ivory runs violent I get it but keep it in perspective that doesn't mean he's good in short yardage or an all aroundback. Ivory is maron barber. Another thing, without moving the chains on 3rd and short our offense isn't nearly as good

Why are people even debating about Ingram vs Ivory? The last time I checked, our starting backs Sproles and Thomas averages 5.1 and 6.9 YPC respectively.

Barber is slow , ivory is our second fastest back . So how again is he marion barber? And Ingram is Berry Sanders right?

1. Ivory and Ingram are guys who could dominate on other teams.

2. Sproles is sproles he doesn't make this argument. He's the man let him stick to what he does.

You might want to check again...Ingram is our starting back and if he is hurt..PT gets the start. Sproles is the third down utility guy and Ivory brings power and speed as teh 4th back...when Ingram went down Ivory took over the heavy lifting though PT and Sproles worked there magic most of the game until it was time to bring in Ivory to run the clock out....ypc is not an indication of who is the starting back...Coaches make that decision not ypc averages and Payton annointed Ingram his lead back.

Without reading all the comments...you guys are WAY to hard on INGRAM. I don't even need to dwelve into why...but seriously??????

PT has also been hurt throughout his career. Its why we decided to go with more RB by committee. We wanted a thumper in the rotation, not only for short yardage, but to close out games.

But hows about more? How about a thumper who can also catch a lil and also block in pass pro? How about BOTH the Is being able to do that?

Im sure thats the goal. Whoever does it better will prolly start out as the 3rd back. Last year, with CI injured, Ingram had the edge. For now, with MI out, CI may have the edge. But how much as Ivory developed here? Remember, he wasnt nearly as polished as Ingram to begin with. In part, it will depend on how healthy CI is right now, and how much he's been puttin in to get stronger and smarter as a RB, and playin in this system.

Im a Saints fan, so I wanna see BOTH Is up their game this year! :9:
