Yep, still rolling with the excellent coach line and basically blaming the downfall on injuries. I can imagine he isn’t happy at being overruled. Ruining your legacy over Dennis Allen is such a strange hill to die on.

All I'm hoping it means is that after the season he's "moved" to a different job title.

This almost had to happen now. Despite the long history of interim NFL coaches not improving overall results in the remaining season, the team has to strive for better than they've been getting.

Good luck Coach Rizzi! Time to support the staff in place and give them time to improve the team on and off the field for what's left of this year.

I understand your point. But we need about an 80-85% roster overhaul. That coach coming in will get to draft and keep who he wants. I want fresh players.

That’s why we need more changes in the front office. The coach has some say in the players but i think Jeff Ireland has more say. And Mickey has the final say. I’m not sure our drafting gets better with a new coach.

Hopefully secondary coach. His scoring defenses were middle of the pact and his defenses created turnovers ranking was bottom 3rd of the league. Both are averages over the duration of time that he was our DC

We overrated him vastly as a DC

He's a good defensive coach. He's better than you think he is because he had a good defense despite the fact that for most of his career they only had one very good pass rusher on the team (Cam Jordan) and for the last 3 or 4 years they have maybe had one good pass rusher (Granderson). He did a pretty good job on defense considering the complete lack of pass rush. It's nearly impossible to play good defense in the NFL without pass rushers but the Saints did.

It's also why his defenses struggled at the end of games. They didn't have an elite pass rusher to take over or shut down drives. QBs had all day to just drive down the field and wait for a defensive PI.
