We should hire whoever the GM was that hired Sean Payton in New Orleans. That hire really turned that franchise around.
He also hired Haslett and Allen.

There was nothing circumspect about that statement. Something like “It’s been a tough period but we thank Dennis for his commitment and service to our organisation” would be circumspect.what do you want him to say "thank god that's over - who hired this dude anyway?"
of course he's going to be circumspect
No press conference yet. Just the statement aboveCan anyone quote what Mickey Loomis said at the press conference please?
Not surprised.
NOF was positive that there would be no mid season coaching firing. Throwing that article out there makes ppl assume that they know about it all along. (especially the ones including me that cant read it)I don't post a lot, but this is one area I think is misunderstood. I don't believe this is a question of "access journalism," rather, think of it more like obituary preparedness. A famous actor gets really sick and is on life support. Newspapers are going to prepare an article on his life and death, but they're not going to pull the trigger and publish the story until the heart stops beating.
Same thing here: The reporter, like the rest of us, knew it might be coming but didn't know when. So he wrote the bones of this story so that he'd have something to publish quickly when it did happen. It's the responsible thing to do, to wait until the firing actually happened and then pushing out the story at exactly the moment people are looking for info.
Gayle stpped up and we can never say she isn't involed again. THANK YOU, GAYLE... now if you could just promote Loomis out of GM thanks again.
Spoken like a guy that was told “Sorry, but enough is enough” from above.
you bring in a new OC - your team curb stomps the 1st two opponents and then a metric ton of injuries hits the team and you go into a horrible losing streakYep, still rolling with the excellent coach line and basically blaming the downfall on injuries. I can imagine he isn’t happy at being overruled. Ruining your legacy over Dennis Allen is such a strange hill to die on.

Exactly man is the gm of our team, but doesn't wanna do his job. This is EXACTLY why Loomis should be next.
I think he's accurate, the injuries did derail whatever momentum they had in Weeks 1-4. And yet, the universe conspires in a way that no matter what happens it's not w/out permission. IE, Allen probably should have been fired last year and yet, the issue was forced this year because, well....it was time.Yep, still rolling with the excellent coach line and basically blaming the downfall on injuries.
