Saints, LSU or both (45 Viewers)

The Bo Davis thread got me thinking. Personally I’ve always felt like this board was a majority of Saints only fans with the smaller minority rooting for both the Saints and LSU football teams. Personally, I feel like a lot of NFL fans don’t transition to college football. Basically, I’ve watched college football more for entertainment and knowing who’s coming via the draft. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m curious to see. I pay attention to what LSU is doing primarily because I listen to 104.5 primary when I’m driving but lose or win LSU isn’t on my radar.

I think anyone in sports ..Especially in NOLA, will say,
When LSU PLAYS>root for them
When Saints PLAY> root for them

Saints fan for sure. Never attended LSU so not a fan since that's not my school.

Now some say I should support the local school, well I do. I support SLU since I went there. Then they also say I should support other local schools like LSU as much as I support the Saints and SLU... well by that argument LSU fans should support SLU, Nicholls, NSU, UNO, etc just as much as LSU but I don't see them buying game tickets and going to those school's games. So yea no thanks on LSU. Not my school, not my team.

Saints losses men more than Lsu losses to me

Probably because , more so in than past than present, 1 or 2 LSU losses can kill a season

Saints only. Even though the LSU homerism is annoying on this board at times, I don't root against them and it's certainly great for the region when the team does well.

If the Saints were playing at the same time as anyone else, this Who Dat is there or watching on TV. While I started out at LSU, I have multiple degrees from LA Tech. I worked in athletics for both Tech and Grambling over the years and have been back at GSU for quite a while. I also love the college football team I watched the most as a kid growing up in NOLA —Tulane. College-wise at this point in my life, it’s GSU, LA Tech, Tulane, LSU and Arkansas for me, with Northwestern State and then ULM in the mix. But first and foremost — This Dat is a Who Dat.

IMO, the Saints have had more of an impact on the state and the region than LSU.
For everything that LSU has done, their success is still regional.
Outside of LSU’s base, you really won’t see anyone that would recognize Orgeron or Les Miles.
And one of the LSU championship QBs in Jamarcus Russell is only known as a draft bust.

The Saints are a national brand. Payton and Brees are going to the Hall and are forever associated with the franchise.
And I know LSU only fans don’t wanna hear this, but that one Super Bowl means more than the three nattys.

This. Redo the poll. LSU was a big deal growing up in the city. Pistol Pete, Chris Jackson, Shaq, women’s basketball, track and of course the men’s football team. Typically a Big day on Saturdays with parties and food. Rinse and repeat on Sunday with the Saints. Again not a fair question not everyone on this board was raised in Louisiana. That Joe Burrow LSU team and the Saints superbowl team was the two of the best of all time because of the runs they had and how they did it.
