Just thankful to be within reasonable driving distance of both. It’s rare that they both suck at the same time.

Not to poop on your thread, but the answer to this was obvious. If someone is on this site, then it's pretty much a given that they're either a saints fan, a visitor, or a troll. If that person IS FROM LOUISIANA and likes college football, then they're most likely and LSU fan with some exceptions. Then there's all the Saintsreport members who are not from Louisiana. They're probably not going to be LSU fans. Then you have a lot of NFL fans don't care for college ball and vice versa. They're not gonna be LSU fans.

One thing is for absolute certain though... The non-LSU fans on this board give plenty of ribbing to the LSU fans on this board. Especially around draft time.

I have been and will always be a die-hard fan of both the Saints and LSU. If you ask me which would I rather the Saints win the SB or LSU win the Natty, then I'd probably say the Saints win the SB, but it's close. But I root for ALL LA teams in all sports

I’m a fan of both teams but lean more to the Saints. I never attended LSU but have been a fan since I was a kid . A good friend is an alum and he’s the opposite. I get it. Had I gone to LSU I may have a different take on it.

And for those that say the same, it’s a little convenient. Ask yourself this question. If LSU and the Saints played on the same day at the same time which game would be on your TV?

You could not be more wrong. You can't gage weather Saints fans are also LSU fans from this board because most of LA is not on this board. Just about every person that is from LA that is a Saints fan is also an LSU fan or a fan of another LA college

Both equally for me, but LSU has been more fun to watch on average. Since the Nola no call I have watched the nfl with a grain of salt and as pure entertainment like I do WWE wrestling. College is also becoming a joke with the way of NIL now. So I just support both as a homer lol.

Has there been a time when they played at the same time?

I'll worry about that if it ever happens, doubt it will.

I am an NFL fan first and foremost and over college by about 9:1. I believe rooting for your local team is noble. That makes me a Saints fan first and I post here more than any other sports forum. MOST of my follows on Twitter are Saints folks and it is really the only reason I am on Twitter.

For college, I believe supporting your alma mater as primary is NOT optional.

I went to Louisiana Tech.
I grew up in a die hard LSU household. I had a distant relative who was briefly chancellor.
I am currently employed by Tulane.

I have strong affinities for LaTech and Tulane due to the communities I developed there. I root for LSU because it makes my friends and family happy.

I have noticed over the years that when LSU is competing for national titles, the other in state schools actually perform fairly well. Louisiana Tech's bowl win streak (2014-2020) coincided with LSU being a national champion. I see no discomfort in rooting for all the state schools until they play each other and I tend to root for outcomes that have a positive net impact on the state ...

My rooting order in college is

Alma mater over any other school
In State vs out of state
Smaller teams over larger teams
Region / Conference over the rest of the country

I do root for schools friends and family go to.

Of the lower levels of football, I prefer high school football -- likely because my son is playing right now.
