Saints making a push to sign Cooper Kupp [Cooper Kupp signs with Seahawks to a 3-year, $45 million deal]

I find it funny that there is so much relief from what Loomis didn’t do more than there is excitement for what he has done. Shows the faith we have have in him as a GM right now.
Loomis does not fall in love with players; like most general managers, he identifies individuals who can fill specific needs for the team. He is not willing to pay above market value to convince a player to sign with the Saints.

Loomis focuses on building competitive football teams and collaborates with the head coach to target the right players.

Whew, I wouldn’t buy that for a dollar.

Well, 45 million of them.

You want him to overpay for FAs?

I'm quite happy with how things have panned out so far. We picked up legit starters at TE, DE and S on long term fair market values (or better). They are now part of rebuilding the roster that was nonexistent in 2026.

My question with Kupp isn't contract, it's why he fell off the 2nd half of last season. Wasn't even getting targets.

Lose Metcalf and sign Kupp. Seahawks went backwards.

If it's really true the Saints were in pursuit, then Loomis may indeed be willing to spend $10M-$12M on a new player.

And good for Kupp. Seattle gave him money above estimated AAV, and they offered him three years, a starter-type contract..

Sounds about right given the WR market right now. I'm sure we put a similar offer on the table, but I have to imagine it came down to guaranteed money without knowing the details atm. I would've loved if we got him but would've hated having money tied to him long term.

Who's we? I'm excited about a few of the players they've signed and re-signed. I'm also excited about getting Moore and the coaching staff they built.
