Saints Need an Offensive Weapon (16 Viewers)

it’s sounds like Dallas wants Jeanty. If graham isn’t there at 10, trade back with Dallas and get their second, draft Warren with our first and address interior OL and DL with our second round picks.
2 players ,if Graham or McMillan are gone I hope Dallas calls, I'd do it in a heartbeat to pick a 2nd

To move up 3 spots?? LOL Would you?
I wouldn't, but I'm not Jerry Jones and they're desperate at this point. They have less of a run game than we do even with all our injuries and a relatively stellar OL. They need to make big headline-grabbing moves. Especially after last offseason's, "we're all in," debacle.

You cooking with grease today. This is my idea. Also, get Dallas 1st this year and 2nd, 2nd rounder next year. Deal.

It’s not like he had 200+ yards against 20th ranked UNLV or 200 yards and 3 touchdowns against Oregon the current number 1 ranked team in the nation. Or 150 yards and 2 touchdowns last year against Washington a team that went to last years National Championship game lol.

Not if you don’t have a bell cow of a RB or a WR that can’t get separation and that can actually catch. Olave is probably done and isn’t a #1. Shaheed is a good #3 if he can stay healthy. After that the rest of the wr and te are mediocre at best.

So yeah, let’s go all in and add another 1st round olineman to an already crappy majority 1st round online.
You can pick all the shiny and flashy things you want but if the line can't pass block or open up holes for them they mean exactly squat!

Washington was good last year and UNLV isn't a very good team. Before last night Boise St. played one good team, Oregon, and they are the #34 defense in the country against the run.

Jeanty is a good player and should be a 1st round pick. He just isn't top 10 pick good. He's not Barry Sanders, Marshall Faulk, or Thurman Thomas. Frankly, Kamara, even at his age, is a better runner.

I hope you are right but I doubt it. Legette was picked #32 hardly a high pick, and he's all they have. T-Mac could go there
Jets- Adams and or Wilson could be gone next yr so one would need to be replaced
Raiders - Bowers is all they have. if Cam or Sanders are gone T-Mac is probably the pick

But I hope I'm wrong because T-Mac would be the best outcome for us, maybe even more than Graham

For better or for worse, I wouldn’t be surprised if Adams finds his way to New Orleans.

I know, I know, we need to get a younger guy, but I am just saying that I could still see it if we continue down this Carr path.

BPA of course, but top needs are...

1) DT/DL
2) OG
3) S
4) WR

Jeanty is a good back worthy of a 1st round pick, but BSU's game vs. PSU is yet another confirmation that if your OL isn't winning, "offensive playmakers" are neutralized more often than not. Over 100 yards, but only 3.5 YPC.

Saquon Barkley averaged 3.9 YPC behind that bad NYG Offensive Line. 3.5YPC while being outmatched and 8-man boxes is pretty darn good. A lesser RB would have been 2YPC or less.

Kamara has never had 1,000 yards rushing season despite some very high volume the past several years. He’s not currently a better runner than Jeanty. Better overall player with his versatility, sure I could buy that (for now). Better runner, very doubtful.

Jeanty is a great player and is undoubtedly a top 10 talent. Saying he’s not Barry Sanders or Marshall Faulk is a false equivalence to what a top 10 talent is. Jeanty undoubtedly has the potential to be a top tier NFL RB for years to come.

People act like it’s solely on Jeanty if he doesn’t have huge games against top level competition, but that is a farce. He plays for Boise State and is the only reason they even sniffed the college playoffs. His OL isn’t the caliber of other college playoff teams. The skill positions around him aren’t the caliber of other playoff teams. For Jeanty to post big games against these caliber teams isn’t a like for like comparison as some RB from Ohio State or some other powerhouse school doing so. He broke 16 tackles last night and had 75 yards after contact. He did as well as any RB could do under the circumstances.

From a “scouting sense” it would be incredibly naive to even attempt to do so. The film doesn’t lie, the overall production is incredible, the amount of yards after contact is insane, he possesses great tools to succeed at the next level. He also has versatility to make an impact in both the run and pass game.

On the season he now has over 1,900 rushing yards after contact. For context, the next closest since it started being tracked was Jonathan Taylor with 1,355 yards after contact, followed by Derrick Henry with 1,339 yards after contact.

I haven’t been a huge advocate for drafting Jeanty given our current roster situation and players we have at RB already, but I also wouldn’t hate it. The guy is the top talent in this draft class.

Your top 3 needs can easily be found outside of the first round. I will repeat ad nauseum, this is a deep draft at those positions. And if you're just looking at a bowl game and only seeing 3.5ypc, it's confirmation bias. You see that and say, "well, his OL is bad and he couldn't overcome it" while I see that and say, "3.5ypc against a defense that is selling out to stop you is stellar."
