Saints request interview with Kellen Moore [mod edit: interview will be on Jan. 18th] (8 Viewers)

He sat out 1 year between Gb and Dallas
You’re gonna be real sad when the Bears hire him. He’s gonna be decent at the very best there. He’s an NFC North kinda guy. Boring and uninspiring. Maybe you should be a Bears fan once that happens since you love the guy so much

It’s kind of ironic that Kellen Moore, the guy Mike McCarthy ran out of town after running him over with his proverbial bus, is the guy most likely to replace McCarthy in Dallas. What does that tell you about McCarthy?
What does it tell you that Green Bay greatly improved when he left?

But I digress. I hope we beat the Cowboys in the Kellen Moore race. That would be glorious.

Kellen Moore isn't Deion Sanders. Reports are that Jerry hasn't even talked to anyone else. And what it tells me is Jerry Jones is being Jerry Jones.

I get that you hate McCarthy but he's the one that hired Moore in the first place and the reason he was replaced is because he wouldn't run the ball. Clearly he learned a lesson from that.

But we still don't know if Moore is anything other than a good OC. He is far from a sure thing as a HC.

? I’ve already checked bears fans thoughts and opinions and lucky for us, they have their groups of non believers as well. That’s good, maybe their fans will shame him our way. Just fyi, when he was with the Saints, I was sad that he went to GB. So I do hope it runs full circle and becomes the new coach. I know this, we’ll be 13-4 in a flash. And no one will be complaining. And I’m willing to bet he fields a winner next year, here with the Saints.

That's incorrect--about McCarthy hiring him. Moore went straight from the field, to QB coach in 2018 and promo'd to OC and play caller in 2019 (while McCarthy was sitting out)...In his first season as offensive coordinator in 2019, Moore guided the Cowboys to the NFL's top-ranked offensive attack (431.5 ypg) while ranking second in passing offense (296.9 ypg) and fifth in rushing offense (134.6 ypg). Prescott finished second in the NFL with a career-high 4,902 passing yards (second-most in franchise history) and fourth with a career-high 30 passing touchdowns. The unit also featured running back Ezekiel Elliott, who logged the second-most scrimmage yards (1,777) and fourth-most rushing yards (1,357) in the NFL, and Cooper, whose breakout campaign included career highs in receiving yards (1,189) and receiving touchdowns (eight).

Big Mike was hired after that and Jerry basically wasn't about to just let Moore walk. Moore runs the ball plenty when he has the personnel--see Saquon this year or several other examples over the years in Dallas. He's a very good candidate imo, checks plenty of boxes--even if Mick might not know him that well...

Sorry but no that’s just not correct. Jason Garrett hired Kellen Moore and then Mike McCarthy, offensive guru, kept him on and let him call the plays. Then once he didn’t care for playcalls in a playoff game, he threw Kellen under the bus and criticized his whole offensive philosophy.

Are you counting the seasons we was unemployed during that time frame? Why was he unemployed if he was so great?
SMH , seasons?? like TWO. He took 2 yrs off after being a HC for more than a DECADE.

I posted this yesterday, but according to Aikman, Jones made the decision to keep Moore when McCarthy was hired. Somebody else posted an article that made it clear that there were philosophical differences between McCarthy and Moore.

Any personal feelings about either of these guys aside, it’s generally not going to be a good situation to force staffing decisions on a head coach. McCarthy probably should have never taken the Cowboys job. In the same segment, Aikman pushed back on the idea that the Cowboys coaching job is “coveted”, suggesting organizational challenges make it a difficult place for a head coach to succeed at the highest level.

The sky screaming petulant takes are becoming tiresome.
Maybe to you, but what else is there to do when you're living in a burning house and the owners keep acting as if nothing is wrong?

Bet high and I’ll be the first to donate. Go check his first seasons with his teams. It will not be a quick turnaround. I don’t think the guy’s incompetent. He understands what he needs to do for the most part. I just think he’s hard to work with and he’s not the type of coach that appeals to players, assistant coaches or fans. I think his offensive play calling is outdated and uninspiring. I think he has a problem with personal accountability.

He’s the worst possible combo with Loomis, who also doesn’t believe his shirt ever stinks.

If he gets hired, tell me how and how much you want to bet
