... until 3 pm CST today

If they haven't traded him by that point, they have to keep him or cut him.

So just to be clear and make sure I’m fully understanding this situation, this player is in a super-unique position in which he will either make a team, be released, or get traded. Got it.

Wild times. 😂

Good teams don't keep 2 place kickers on their 53 man roster.

Smyth likely ends up on the PS with the International Player exemption.

Beyond that, Payton is solid as your #4 DE. Foskey? I'd cut him, but that still could happen.
Payton's health history is why they may keep a 5th DE.

30 picks, but it crosses from round 3 to 4, that's the difference. Check the draft pick trade value of a 3rd round pick vs a 4th round pick.

I mean, I'm not sure what difference the round makes other than it is used to reset to the draft order. The draft value chart, which is only a guideline, really relies of the value of each individual pick, not the round. Anyway, the actual value of a pick really depends on the depth of each particular draft.

And not all drafts have an equal distribution of talent. Some are loaded, some are barren and most are somewhere in between,

Yep. Even first round picks have different value based on the strength of the draft. Some drafts have 35 guys with 1st round grades others have 15 guys with 1st round grades. And the same goes for each round after that.

And the worst part is that all those grades will be different for each of the 32 NFL teams.
