That's awesome, thanks for the heads up!Hi all,
Just came to comment on Jordan Howden.
I think you got a good one here.
He came to Minnesota as preferred walk-on. He got tossed into a starting role early due to roster depletion. HE DID NOT LOOK GOOD in his first year. Gopher fans were hating on the poor guy. He was in over-his-head but didn't quit fighting, failing, learning.
He has gotten better each year. Became a better tackler and learned from Antoine Winfield Jr.
If you remember watching a Thursday night game a couple years ago, Gophers vs Ohio State, many fans will remember it was the game Mo Ibrahim got hurt in it. When Minnesota was leading at halftime, Mo was healthy and so was Jordan Howden. Howden got injured early 2nd half and got pulled out of the game by medical staff. THAT is when the game turned and suddenly we were getting torched by the talented OSU wide receivers.
He played against CJ Stoud, Chris Olave... and it was after he got hurt than we got really depleted in the secondary.
He's a good tackler. Strong special teamer. Ran track in high school.
He'll be a 4 year guy on your roster and you'll love him if that's what you expect.
Good luck to Jordan. Huge fan of the kid! From preferred walk-on to the NFL!
Thomas health still a question. Edwards is a definite question also. We could use some added talent and competition at WR and TE.We have Olave, Shaheed, Thomas, and Edwards. Good to have, but we really didn’t have to take a WR. Very possible that the WRs we passed on will be our UDFAs.
Glad they listened!Same could be said about safety.
AT Perry is just a batter value and need pick than Howden.
We had a plan…So we are just going to ignore AT Perry sitting there?

We need to keep better track of our cookware. We are literally finding specific skillets that we either lost on the roster or let go.
Smoke MondayI don’t know the player but safety was my next need with really no future behind Maye and Matthieu.
I think this is just a weird year. Not a lot of blue chip talent. I posted a quote from the Seattle GM in another thread where he said players from their UDFA/Medical board were already being drafted in round 3.I have to admit, my problem is that although I studied through what I thought were most of the prospects that might be chosen in the draft, I never saw Jordan Howden on my screen. I was like, Jordan who?
I can't form an opinion other than from what I have read post pick he seems to be a better prospect than I expected. However, I very much trust that Dennis Allen and the Saints scouting department know what they are doing when it comes evaluating DB's, and drafting a safety is a good thing.
