Yes, he sure does. He's also a very good communicator, which is a theme we've been developing over the last few seasons, Kline, T'eo, now Coleman and Davis. Those guys are all high IQ players. Starters should be WLB - Anzalone, MIKE - Davis, SLB - Klein

I don't know about Te'o. He balled last year, especially the later part of the season, while Anzalone and Klein were missing 12 games combined.

Well, for what it's worth or how much stock you put in their rankings, he was PFF's #5 ILB last season.

So all our starting DBs run 4.6. We have SPEED at LB finally! Awesome signing. Davis also had 39" vertical at the combine at 235 pounds. So he is explosive too.

These FA signing show SP is all in on the defense. If we can get a 2 down manster nose tackle DT to help stop our biggest weakness, runs up the middle, this is a Top 3 defense. Davis will help defending the run also.

Does this mean SP plans on going offense with the #1 pick?

Kind of weird they decided to sign Avery from the Titans and not re sign Demario. He seems to excel vs the run and blitzing.

This is pretty big. Not sure if he will play Will here or Sam here but with Robinson/Coleman/Demario they've officially replaced Kenny the Safety/Slot/Sam LB

What I see right now is

WLB - Anzalone/Robertson
MLB - Klein/Te'o
SLB - Davis/Stupar

Since the Sam position is a 2 down spot and Anzalone seems like you may not be able to rely on him for heavy snaps they could also choose to play Anzalone at sam in base(what he played in college) and Davis at WLB.

Regardless they spot filled nearly everything on D. The need Edge/DT right now and that's it.


If they can pull of a DT in FA they could really set themselves up to go QB or Passrusher at 27

As you know, I would love to use Anzalone at the SAM (I wrote that even before we draft him). I see him as the new Scott Fujita in our system.

Now, I don't know if Davis can play the WILL. I see him more as a MIKE or SAM.

This is going to be an interesting camp.

To me, if we get another defensive tackle, we are done in free agency, with big success.
