Saints sign Guard Dillon Radunz

I don't hate it. But, I hope Saldeveri takes the job and runs with it.
Hope he does, but time for hoping is up. Got to find out if Saldeveri can play or not. Same with a few more: Howden, Penning, Miller, D’Marco Jackson, Foskey. Lots of iffy players that need to step up or step out.

I'm ok with this. It gives us another body with some experience. With the way our line has had to shuffle players around in recent years, I understand this signing.

Now, I'm really worried about our cornerback spot. We need to address that. I'm surprised Asante is still out there. Maybe he's asking for too much money, but we need a bonafide #1. I still think CB is our pick at 9 and the rest is just a smokescreen.

He played in 15 games last year, 11 as a starter. He’s more than a JAG.
Come on man, don't make me agree with Geezy in public. The dude was the RG for the tied for worst team in the NFL. Those aren't the scraps you want. It's good that we have someone to plug the hole, but I suspect any competent D lineman will unplug it often.

While I preferred Becton or Jenkins if we draft a guard in the 3rd round then this would give us a good competition between Radunz, Sal and the draft pick. We'd finally get some depth on the line and Radunz has also played tackle which gives us depth we need at tackle.

Our depth killed us last year. We've added Clapp and Radunz while only letting Patrick walk. Add a draft pick to the mix and we've significantly improved a weakness.

You do know we hired a new coach, his name is Kellon Moore.

Everyone on offense is learning a new offense and or defensive scheme.
Not in the offense, in playing LG. He's played very few snaps on the left side as an NFL player.

Merely playing doesn’t make you not a JAG, much less merely playing for a team currently slated to pick first in the draft.

And that’s not necessarily a knock on him; we need competent bodies. I just feel like we can do better and should aim higher.
I'm not saying Radunz is a great player but to rank him because he played on the team with the worst record is kind of off base. How many good to great players played on horrible teams? I can probably name at least 50

• In 2023, Radunz returned from a season-ending knee injury during the previous season to record career highs with 16 games played and 11 starts. He logged starts at four different offensive line positions: seven starts at right tackle, two starts at left guard, one start at left tackle and one start at right guard.
• In 2022, Radunz set a career high with four starts, including two starts at right guard and two starts at left guard.
• In 2021, Radunz logged his first career NFL start at left tackle on Thursday Night Football against San Francisco (12/23).

FYI...

Well, rest assured, this Training Camp will be different. You wont have the Emotional Coach keeping a Player he is in love with but lack the Talent to meet the objective. Lets see exactly who makes the cut an how doesn't. Then another question will be answered:
Is it the player
or
Was it the coaching.
Stay Tune . These will be answered before 2026
