Saints sign WR Brandin Cooks to a 2-year, $13 million deal (93 Viewers)

I think Cooks provides depth for both shaheed and Olave.
This.
As most of us realize there’s no way Olave and Shaheed make it thru a whole season.

I sure hope they are able to do so tho. Shaheed is by far my favorite receiver on the team so I love being able to watch him play especially.

He is being payed as a starter. Expect a lot 3 WR sets with Cooks, Olave and Shaheed on the field.
He still feels he’s a starter too.

Idk tho shout the pay being commensurate with being a starter at Wideout…seems even punters are getting more money that this contract nowadays. Wild seeing all of these bloated contracts.

I know it matches the rise in salary cap tho and that I’m just turning into an old curmudgeon.

I think he’s intentionally wants the hate. Only thing I can think of for some of his comments.

He knows that’s the flavor of the month (year?) right now with the fanbase. People seem to crave anger and hatred of anything the team does, and he is feeding into it and giving those people what they want.

I’m not at all a fan of his style, having said that they ALL play to their respective crowds lol. Nature of the business. Ross (who’s my favorite) caters to the pumpers, so on so forth.

Also, the whole world is running on anger and hatred right now, not just sports. Glad I’m old. lol

MVS is a 1 trick pony. He started how, but reverted to the MVS the entire league knows. Cooks is the better WR.
He's a nice addition to the team, Loomis and Moore are building a competitive team with some productive vets and young players, the draft will mean more youth injected so having veterans on this team who know what to do is essential.

Question is, are you paying for past or future production? Either you believe he will bounce back at age 32 from a subpar season, or he is already losing it. I think the latter.
I think there’s reason for optimism as he had a really weird injury last year on a weird Dallas team.

Again he’s just 1 year removed from 8 TDs in an offense dominated by Ceedee.

I don’t think anyone is expecting him to come in and be a #1 or even #2 guy. I’m willing to be on him being a solid #3 that has added value for the young guys.

It’s sure as heck more responsible cap wise to use 6.5 mil than use 13-15 mil on Cooper Kupp(who has been injured more than Cooks and has actually been less productive)

Sure is a heck of an upgrade over the likes of Pettis/Austin/Wilson etc.

He gave some decent reasonings in his Cam Ward/Jaxson Dart video the other day but this is pretty bad.

Considering all of the injuries at WR last year this makes a lot of sense...
Not sure if you are being serious.
Cooks played in only like 7 games last year. So between Olave, Rasheed, and Cooks, if you add all there games together from last year, I think it only adds up to like 15 games.

Overall last year, we had one of the most fragile teams. I would say the Saints have been the most injury prone over the last 3 years.

Running the ball is going to be difficult with these 3 on the field together.

Definitely going to need to invest in OL if we wanna run the ball efficiently.
