Saints sign WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (2 Viewers)

Doesn't sound like he went anywhere else but the Saints. I guess no other team had a chance to offer him. But I'd bet that the chiefs, Ravens and now the Bucs would have signed him if the Saints didn't.

Despite his Super Bowl heroics, reading Twitter/X, Chiefs fans absolutely dreaded the scenario of him being brought back. There are Chiefs fans flat out thanking the Saints for sparing them.

So... No one else offered him a contract...
Don’t know if anyone else worked him out or offered, but in the OP Tweet from Fowler there was other interest.

Colts, Commanders and others had inquired about MVS, but New Orleans has clear need with Rashid Shaheed going out.

Somebody needs to see to it that he reads that! He needs some motivation!

Kevin White got better hands than this guy
There we go thats the name i forgot the other day while rattling of the 2021 WR group.

Yeah, i dont see him doing much here. He was invisible in K.C last year. WR deficient Buffalo let him go. Even after trade its still a weakness for them.. It says a lot.

OOOOhhh, that's bad. I remembered when Kevin White caught a pass in the game one time and the whole team cheered him on the sideline for a routine catch.

That guy has to be the biggest WR draft bust of our time. There have been many busts at WR, but usually they at least put up a “mid” season or two before flaming out. This guy did absolutely NOTHING. Even that year 1 output was just them force feeding their new toy with a bunch of bubble screens.

I haven't seen the contract specifics, but I'm assuming we are paying MVS the minimum, which is interesting given that he had a fully guaranteed minimum salary (+ small signing bonus) with the Bills.

The Bills will get some cap/cash relief from the signing, but MVS would be taking on injury risk without any additional compensation in 2024. I doubt he signed with us as a contender, he must see enough opportunity to get some decent film on tape to make the risk/reward worth it.
