It’s really unfair to compare.Sorry…. But I see Glenn as more of the same. I am looking for a completely new direction and fresh set of ideas and methods.
Hiring Glenn under the guise of change is a total Loomis move to keep the status quo and not have to make franchise altering moves and decisions…. Which are sorely needed.
Obviously if we do hire him…. I hope to be dead wrong.
As of today…. I see a DA 2.0 hire in Glenn.
T-Bob and Hester on 104.5 out of BR were fairly positive on Glenn this morning. Echoed my sentiment from yesterday that of all the defensive names out there, he'd be the lone one worth considering.
Doing a little thinking here....you have to think the Mayo firing in N.E. was to clear the deck for them to hire Vrabel due to his connection there. Johnson's probably not leaving Detroit just yet....everyone else is a retread or a bad fit.....tea leaves are pointing toward Glenn or Brady?
Chicago tried gambling on the next up and comer. It didn’t work. So they now want experience and proven leadership by going after Mcarthy and now Pete Carol. Considering that our cupboards are bare, we’d be lucky to get one of the experienced guys, Gruden and Vrabel included. An older experienced coach probably wants the full roster, which is why we’d be lucky.Less of a direct comparison... More of a personal observation...
I think Glenn is miles better than DA was as a potential HC, and I also think he's a damn good DC....
But I also think Glenn brings nothing new or earth shattering to the team in the form of new ideas, new culture, or a completely new direction for the franchise in general...
His way (although likely better than the DA way) will represent more of the same, and provide the continuity / comfort level Loomis can't seem to get away from.
It also allows Loomis the option to retain a lot of staff should Glenn be comfortable with them (also likely).... and minimize roster turnover.
All of which I do not want... I want complete and total upheaval with a new fresh direction... Glenn represents the opposite of that.
Again... If he is a the new Saints HC.... I hope I am dead wrong.

Sean Payton's way seems to be doing pretty well in Denver, as is the culture, etc. in Detroit. Why is continuing that a bad thing? DA didn't do that well, but as you said, AG isn't DA.
Nothing wrong with the message in and of itself... It's the absolute stale-state of the ears that said message is falling on... Sean realized this.... and took his message somewhere new ears could receive it.
I don't think that's why he left, and he did try to come back.
Huh? The same what?Sorry…. But I see Glenn as more of the same. I am looking for a completely new direction and fresh set of ideas and methods.

At this point I couldn’t care less about who these players really like after their performance late in the season. They need to shape up or get shipped out. There are some good options this year. But my concern is that the players really like Rizzi and that may sway things in his favor. I wouldn't hate that, but I wouldn't love it either.
LOL Glenn is really nothing like DA Glenn is much more of a firey kind of coach. This mindset that just because a coach was here before that he's not going to be a good coach is just preposterous. And just because he has no ties to SP or DA he's going to be good. Change for change's sake is not always goodSorry…. But I see Glenn as more of the same.
