I liked the progress I was seeing enough to feel like he shouldn’t be traded away for a 6th rounder, when we have depth issues at the position, but that’s just me

That's a completely fair take. I kind of wanted to see him with Carr before throwing in the towel. I thought he looked promising as a rookie and wanted to find out if he would progress with better QB play. I do think his lack of speed was always going to be difficult to overcome. It's a huge need now.

Really don't see any way to complain about a move like this. We should be okay at TE and added a talented WR who could very well end up being a force in the red zone.

Trautman wasn't a terrible player but he is a player we can replace rather easily and the kid at a friendly WR contract as a rookie has way way more upside.

Agreed. Especially because Carr seems to heavily lean on TEs. Will be interested to see how they plan to address that.

We keep saying this, but it never happens.

I’m late to this news because I was sleeping (live in Japan), but I had a feeling we would trade Trautman. And of course Sean wants one of his guys back.

This is a great trade to get Perry!

And this means that the team really likes Lucas Krull! I do as well!

The more I watch his games the more I love this pick and am SHOCKED he didn't go sooner. I guess averageish production is the issue? Maybe injury? Is he older than everyone else? Is he just a jerk?

He's like if you combined Colston and Meachem into one player. I really think he's going to have a good career with us.

Everyone worried about tight end depth, be prepared to see Taysom get a lot of tight end 2 snaps

I think it’s more of the team seeing Juwan closer to being an every down TE now. We’ll likely sign a vet TE for insurance, but they have more confidence in Juwan getting close to full snaps than we do. And rightfully so cause he had a big year last year and will breakout even more with Carr this year.

TE depth isn’t really an issue since they know they’ll sign Moreau once he’s cleared from treatment.

One knock I've read he's best against zone and off coverages. He struggles against man,specifically getting separation
