Who won the Marshon Lattimore Trade?

Washington smoked us in this trade. This has the same to stink to me of trading SP to Denver and people thinking we’ll be great with DA and those draft picks.

Draft picks, not even 1st rounders are worth a player that’s top 5 at their position. Ever.

Latt was/is not worth a 1st.

Who else can we release at the end of the season and absorb the cap consequences? We still need enough room to field a team.

Commanaders get a new owner and in less than a year... they are super bowl contenders....
Maybe have a look at their schedule and see that they have not beaten any good team yet. In fact they may have had the easiest schedule in the league so far

We will be bad next year, but we are bad now. Only way to get out of cap issues is to just take the lumps. Can't keep kicking the can down the road.

I mean this was an 8 to 10 win team this year if we had good coaching and better injury luck. Might be a 7 to 9 win next year with better coaching and a little better injury luck depending on if they keep Carr or just commit to a young QB. You are likely looking at 7 or 8 win seasons for a few years, worse if you are developing a QB, but hopefully you hit on some draft picks in those years and find a QB.

They can get under the cap with some restructures and likely will have to do that this year. It will take through 2026 to clean up the cap if they don't do anything dumb.

im starting to sense that this could be Gayle being assertive. I may be wrong with what i said yesterday that her firing DA was only "optics". She probably has remorse for being talked into going after Watson. (i mean who wouldn't right?) So IF she feels this way, ML could be the next domino to fall. Just speculating.
MAJOR speculation. GB is NOT getting into player personnel decisions ESPECIALLY not influencing trades.

So who was offering more?

Are we working under the assumption that Loomis took less from Washington than he was offered from either Baltimore or KC?

Trades have to have a partner.

As for the trade for SP… Payton wanted to go to Denver. That was the only situation where he was coming back. So if we didn’t take the trade, he could sit out another year and go wherever he wanted and we got nothing.

Again, trades have two sides.

We better sign Paulson Adebo to a long term contract.
Well after the injury and his play this season he'll be a whole lot cheaper. But we do have AT who is better on the outside. And we still have to evaluate KAM. Rico and the rest of our DB's

Gonna have to excuse me and agree to disagree. A lot of people said the same thing about Sean Payton, and would happily trade away Penning and Olave to have him back now.

Fans get silly at the hope of the idea a draft pick brings. In two years there’s a solid chance we’ll wish we had Latt back instead of whoever we draft with these 3rd and 6th rounders, after the hope wears off and reality sets in.

May be the most ridiculous post of the day. Latt nor any other CB playing today is going to get a 1st rd pick. Just a couple yrs ago one of the best CB Ramsey only got 1 3rd from Mia. #77. We got a 3rd and a 4th out of the deal

You’re right, trades have to have a partner. Just because you have one doesn’t mean you should.

We got fleeced, just like Denver fleeced us for Sean Payton.

You don’t trade away the best players/coaches.
