Seahawks requests to interview Klint Kubiak (2 Viewers)

I think Kubiak did a solid job. We averaged 24.8ppg with Carr. That would be 11th in the NFL. The production from a rookie QB, Rattler, was better than expected for a 5th rounder. The IOL was a rotation of meh, yet there were some good schemes to hide issues.

How does that work if he accepts? They buy out his contract but do they have to offer any sort of compensation?

No buyout, we would just release him from his contract. He can’t leave without the team’s permission.

I suppose he could be traded, but I really doubt anyone is trading picks for an OC.

Teams need the Saints to interview him. If I'm not mistaken he could just leave if it was for a promotion. All that would take would be for a team to give him an assistant head coach title or something.

As Rodney Dangerfield might say if discussing offensive coordinators..."Offensive coordinators are very important to a team. There are many duties of an offensive coordinator. Take the Saints offensive coordinator......PLEASE!"

Second half adjustments are a myth. What type of adjustments can any coach really make in 15min that they can’t make on the fly during the game?

The fact that Klint Kubiak was able to even get one half of productive offense from a team void of talent and injured was a feat of its own. I still find it amazing that MVS scored all those TD’s in his first few games with the Saints. It says a lot about Carr and Kubiak IMO.
In terms of game planning sure, but in terms of play calling you can totally make adjustments. Kubiak really hasn't done that at all.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. If the Saints deny now but move on from him later, that would look terrible. Seattle is putting some pressure on the Saints with this. I wouldn't be surprised if the Saints ask him to interview for the HC job here. If Seattle were to offer their OC spot, which is an attractive job, he could lose out on securing it by waiting for the Saints to sort out their HC situation.
