Semper's Stupendous to Infinity and Beyond Everything Marvel Movie/TV Thread (1 Viewer)

Yep, I love all the Avengers movies. They really pull it all together. My favorite has to be Infinity War. The first one is top 2 or 3. Good stuff.
The first Ironman and Capt America movies really were a jump start. They grabbed people, the end credit scenes created a need to see the next movie, and the movies had a pretty clear purpose moving forward toward a showdown. I just haven't seen that with what they have put out since Endgame.

That initial story arc (of 20+ movies) was like the original Star Wars trilogy for me. It’s who and what the character are, and it’s the people I care about in Marvel (aka in my mind as Avengers) World. I didn’t love the second and third Star Wars trilogies, and I haven’t really enjoyed post Avengers movies, but some of the shows have been fun. Rogue One and The Mandalorian shows that redemption is possible after a tough spell. Feige just needs to figure it out and let us fans have fun again and the hero’s be themselves.

Yes, and regarding the episodal shows, I really liked Loki and the What If...? series in the MCU. Agree with everything you said above.

I've been digging a bit and I'm not finding anything official. Just a lot of smoke around Feige's announcement of the Daredevil: Born Again series which is expected to be out in 2024. I suppose a lot can happen between now and production starts. There are rumors that Rosario Dawson reprising her role as well. Make it happen Disney!

18 episodes! Sweet!

Cox says he expects it to still be dark, but not as gory. With the Punisher in it, it definitely will be dark.

As long as they write it as well as it was done on Netflix, of course. Just don't give us a 6 episode plot run to 18 episodes with meaningless filler, like the story in Iron Fist season 1, which could have been told in about half the episodes (maybe even less) that they made.

While this is good news, no Deborah Ann Woll is a forking tragedy.
No big loss with me. I was never impressed with Karen on the show or the comics.

I'm glad she's dead.

Booo! I thought Karen was great! But I suppose I can see why some might be cool on her. I just loved her character. I don't know enough to comment on the comics tho.

Fork that spoiler tho, lol.

I did wonder if they were going to take her in the direction of the comics (alcoholism, etc.) at some point, but happily they didn't go there in the show. I understand why you were happy to be rid of her in the comics but I felt they did a better job with her character on the show.

She did her share of drinking in the show. It was never much of a focus. Her home issues were at one point. I'm just bummed she's not on board yet.

I am a huge fan of the MCU, but at this point I kinda wish they had treated Endgame as a full-stop. End of the MCU, all actors released from contracts, etc. Then, start MCU version 2. Skip the origin stories since we all know them by now. Recast the big names (Iron Man, Thor, Cap, etc) and make new movies for those characters and/or new Avengers team-up movies. Integrate the Fantastic Four, Xmen, Moon Knight, Shang Chi, etc into this MCUv2. This would allow us to have the "real" Iron Man, Cap, etc interact with the FF and the Xmen (instead of the probable/eventual "FF meets Iron Heart" or "Xmen meet Shuri" storylines). It would open the door for additional established comic book story lines for the primary Avengers that didn't have a chance to shine in the original MCU.

Alas...

I think they should have gone from the Infinity Saga to The Mutant Saga and made the phases about the X-Men and FF instead of trying to carry the Avengers stories forward and build on them. They could have built up the cosmic side of things through FF, GotG, Thor, and The Marvels leading to a Secret Wars storyline that felt a lot like X-Men vs. Avengers.

To me, that would have been better than this one leg in the past, one leg in the future approach.
