Sharper not coming back? Per Jamie Dukes (2 Viewers)

I'm no fan of Jamie Dukes. Didn't like him when he played for the Buzzards and I certainly don't like his commentary on the NFL Network. I can't recall one time he has been right when it pertains to the Saints. He wasn't buying Saints stock last year and I'm sure he's eager to sell the Saints short every chance he gets. Typically, when he's on the NFL Network I find something else to watch. I'm just saying...

Sharper has done a lot of work for NFL Network. I'm sure Dukes and Sharper know each other fairly well. Just throwing that out there.

I thought he broke down the saints offensive struggles pretty well in the segment he did tonight but the sharper comment made no sense. Only way sharper doesn't see the field is if there is a hidden setback only few on the team know about.

We need sharper bad so jenkins can cover TE's etc.

I might be wrong but wasn't Dukes a Falcon at one time.:idunno:Big mistake if true but I don't think Peyton would let someone like Sharper go with a defensive backfield as injured as we are.

Yes, he played for Atlanta, but is fair with his comments. He gives the Saints a lot of respect.

Not really sure what this claim is based off of, so, I'll wait.

I like Jamie Dukes a lot about 75% of the time. He's generally pretty good, but he does occasionally just out-and-out miss on things. And yes, sometimes he's just wrong.

And historically, even though he played for the Falcons, he's been a pretty big Saints fan.

I think he's just speculating at this point, but as others have said, Sharper has been saying he's ready for weeks. He even said he was ready at the beginning of the season, and then in the same interview said he couldn't run full speed for 40 yards.

I'd say it's 80% chance that Dukes is wrong, but it's not 100%.

Maybe a mod should change the title to "Jamie Dukes thinks Sharper might not come back " or something to create less panic.

Dont make sense. The TP guys were just saying Sharper was on the practice field getting more active then they have seen. Running, cutting, etc.

Sounds like Dukes talking out his ***.

I think Sharper is coming back, but in fairness I think Sharper has been saying he is ready to go since he came out from under anesthesia -- not that I look down on him for that.

This is true. Can't really go by what Sharper says.

I also don't think Jamie Dukes would just say something that had zero merit to it. Sharper may very well come back, but I think Dukes is basing what he's saying on something he heard, rather than something he just decided to make up for @%^#$ and giggles.

I've heard Jamie make some big time reaches with his "analysis" in the past, so I'm not real concerned. We've had multiple injuries at safety, that might have something to do with "looking elsewhere".

Edit: I can't believe I wasted number 1000 on a Jamie Dukes thread.

Guys, this thread should not have been posted. I heard Jamie say it, it was on one of his fast-talking rants he does with the "Touch Screen" on the Total Access Show. Believe me there 's a lot of things he says in that segment that makes you go, "Huh?" There was little to no credence to what he said in passing about Sharper.

It's a tough surgery to come back from late in a players career. I'm sure the saints have to be skeptical until it is proven that the knee will hold up. I would love to see him back in center field.
