Smartphones/Crackberrys (1 Viewer)

I have a AT&T/ cingular 8125 that I like.I know last years model but it works for me. getting ready to get a verizon palm 700wx at work to replace my audiovox 6700 some times I hate having two phones. my wife has the 3125 and loves it. I would suggest to any body that has verizon to get the palm 700. you can get it with windows, palm or blackberry OS and its a good rugged phone.

am I the only treo 650 on the board?
Works well enough. No real drawback other than bulky.
Love the QWERTY keyboard - and the camera is actually pretty good.

Yea I have one because I got it for free. I like the keyboard since I text alot but it is pretty bulky. If something better would come out that had a keyboard and was smaller I would probably get it.

Verizon is a must if your in DC. I just got the Palm Treo 700wx, which uses windows mobile software. It ran $250 including a 100 dollar mail in rebate. This is my first smarphone /PDA so I have no real frame of reference but it rocks so far.

I have the Verizon Palm Treo 700WX here in N.O. and I absolutely LOVE it! I dont know how I ever went with a boring old stupid-phone before. Seriously I have had zero complaints about service/internet, download speed is super fast (almost broadband) and all the extras - too much to add. I watch live tv, and radio, messenger, email, video, google maps mobile. Only complaint is video quality is grainy but really who needs high quality phone videos, buy a video camera already.

Bump for an update.

I think I finally have to get a smart phone/Blackberry. My firm will now pay for them so all my excuses are gone.

Anway, I have Verizon and for various reasons I don't want to swith. So, my options are the Blackberry 8830, the Blackberry Pearl, Treo 700pp and Treo 700wx. Does anyone have any strong feelings on any of these?

I'm thinking about the Blackberry Pearl because I like the size, but I'm wondering how the adjustment to the keyboard is for people who have had one.

I always carry a blackberry, and have the pearl now. I love the keyboard, but my wife can't use it. I use my fingernails and for some reason she can't get the hang of it.

The video capability is why I love it though, I have all kinds of saints vids to watch when I'm waiting for wife, kid, dog or whatever. I would try all of them out if you have a verizon store close and see what you think.

I've got the Verizon XV6700 and I LOVE it! Looks like Verizon has recently updated this phone to the XV6800. Not sure what features the 6800 has that the 6700 does not...but I LOVE my 6700. Check them out!

I have the BB pearl with verizon, Love it, service is better than cingular or sprint, who I have used in the past, I will stay with verizon from now on.

Now that I have adjusted to the keyboard I love it...

Had the Treo 700wx and broke it. I switched to the Pearl because of size and I do not regret it.

Heh, I should have know you Crackberry users would make 4 replies in 5 mintues. :hihi:

I can't wait to get my first mobile email jones.

Anway, thanks for all the replies. How long did it take you guys with the Pearl to get used to the Pearl's keyboard?

I had an odler blackberry with a qwerty keyboard for several years before getting a pearl. the new software really does work in guessing what you're typing. at first it drove me nuts. I'd be yelling at it "doop is not a word!" sicne I updated the software, it's >90% accurate.

and I love the size and the phone works very well.

2 - 3 weeks, light text messaging, virtually no emailing..

not long

iphones now $200 cheaper and all iphone plans from ATT includes visual voicemail, rollover minutes, unlimited e-mail and internet.

$79.99 for 900 minutes, $99.99 for 1350 minutes. (unlimited weekend minutes and unlimited mobile to mobile)

So, if I get an iphone now, will I be able to take advantage of the soon to come upgrades (push email from exchange, etc) via firmware updates?

Or is there a new iphone to be released and anyone holding an older one will be out of luck?

Thanks.
