Sneaux next week [Historic snowstorm in southeast Louisiana on January 21, 2025] (57 Viewers)

My two kids + daughter's spouse -- 18, 21, and 23 years old -- have been out in the snow most of the day. Well, in and out, in and out.
Dang -- the rug inside the front door is drenched now. I thought the snow magically stayed outside when people went back and forth? :cautious:

EDIT:

"Why do people up North have a mud room? ... Oh ... "

Less than an inch here. I was hoping for about 2 or 3 inches just to make everything white for a day. Looks like that is all we'll be getting here.

I have an old broken hard drive in my closet. The main reason I keep it is that I hope one day to be able to get the photo files off of it, including a bunch of my daughter's baby and toddler photos. We have a bunch of great photos of my daughter in the Christmas 2004 snowfall. We printed some, but they've gotten misplaced during one move or another. Really cool to be able to compare today to back then.

My old neighbor texted me this am ( he txfrd to Baltimore in 2011) and was like "remember 2008 when our baby girls built snowmen in your front yard?"

Well just so happens I had photo of my oldest and his ( a year younger ) holding snowballs and sent him. He andhis wife hadn't seen that photo in 17 years.

It's really neat to pull up those memories. Get that hard drive!!

Gotta look into it again. Last time I checked -- around 2012 -- it was around $600 to maybe get the files off, no guarantees. I think if they can get the hard drive to spin, they can get the files. The disc isn't physically damaged.
