Sneaux next week [Historic snowstorm in southeast Louisiana on January 21, 2025] (10 Viewers)

The wife is trying to cross the gno right now. It's still one lane and she's been on it for over an hour with little progress. Meanwhile the police are flying through the unused lanes without a care for safety..because they aren't frozen. So it's back to business for Nola being frustrating.

R.I.P. Mobile Civic Center . I remember going to see the Metallica Black tour there in the 90’s . It was not the Lakefront arena but it was a good concert venue in the 90’s.

Front yard still covered. All bridges now opened on the coast, but still have black ice warnings in effect.

Front yard still covered.
Not totally covered around here, but anyone's lawn that wasn't heavily trampled is still about 80% covered.

There are spots in my yard that are cast in almost 24-hour shadow that look like they won't fully clear until sometime next week.

RIP to where I saw my first concert.

Husband born and raised in Mobile. Showed him your post, I knew he must have been there in his youth. He remembers sitting on the stage in front of the speakers for Blue Oyster Cult, fool couldn't hear for 2 days.
He can't remember who else he saw there, can't imagine why.

demolition just got a bit easier

Not current but interesting to see what elevated roads were like

and what happens when an area not suited/prepared for snow ( ie plows working throughout the event ) gets 10 inches of snow.

thats incredible.

It's nuts. I went out during the thick of it on Tuesday to check on a couple of people and really just for the fun of it. It was wild driving through a foot of snow. My brother in law took his jeep out to the levee and it was a blast.

I have a side porch that doesn't get sun this time of year - minimal thaw so far
will be interesting to chart
I also decided to leave the big aloe plant out (took all other plants in, including two big aloe plants downstairs)
