When most people think of fire they think of wood burning. There is some bad stuff out there that water won't work
against. Magnesium is one of those.
These require a halon extinguisher. Halon bonds with oxygen and renders it useless. The problem is if you inhale it, it will remove the oxygen in your lungs. Sorry, former fireman talking here.
