So.....now fire Allen ? And trading deadline ? (1 Viewer)

Yes. Dennis Allen needs to go. He is a cancer and a joke as a head coach. But, he ain’t the only one who needs to go.

When you can’t draft, or when you totally mismanage the cap, or when you make boneheaded comments like “results don’t matter “ you have then totally lost it. Not just the team, but the fan base that supports it.

I’m fed up with this joke. It’s not even fun to watch anymore. Really bad teams like Detroit back in the day was still fun to watch. This team ain’t got nothing. The offense is boring and the defense can’t tackle.

This is worse than the old bag head saints that I lived through. They were at least fun.

Mickey Loomis deserves just as much ire as Allen. Maybe even more. He has hamstrung this team for the next 3 years cap wise. I don’t even look forward to the draft anymore. He will just make another pick that comes out of nowhere and who is injury prone.

We have 2 ex GMs on the team as well as him and that simply proves we have no direction.

I look around the league and see all the players we drafted and they are doing great and yet they aren’t on our team.

Coaching. Zach Baum is a prime example. We all knew he would be a great pass rusher and yet Allen couldn’t figure that out. We let Trey walk and resign Cam who was on the decline and look at us now.

Stupid decisions that never end

The only way you're getting rid of Allen or any of this staff is if you trick them into poaching a federally protected endangered species and posting it to TikTok.

The Bag heads are returning btw…even saw a few at the game today on tv. :(

Not only is Mickey Loomis making bad decisions, but he’s compounding on those bad decisions.

Two first rounders used on Davenport, then let’s Hendrickson walk because they don’t feel he’s worthy of the usual kicking the can down the road. Davenport ultimately fails, so not only did they waste two first round picks, but also let their best pass rusher walk because of the hope that their investment in Davenport would work out. Then, they follow it up with drafting Payton Turner in the first round and he’s Davenport 2.0. And to makes matter worst Cam Jordan gets old with all the years that that it took for this to play out. Talk about an ultimate screw up.

Loomis also hires DA. A bad decision that is then compounded by allowing DA to construct his team which ends up being Raiders 2.0.

We have FOUR ex GM’s on this staff.

Loomis, Ireland, Mueller, Ziegler! It’s ridiculous.

If we fire him now the team might start winning games and screw up their draft position. This season is a bust. Best thing to do is to drop the rest of the games this season. That way, you get a shot at some talent and guarantee DA is gone next season

Saints for last 3 years have been the worst thing a team can be, boring. Boring is worse than bad.

It would really be a gift to the fans to fire DA now - so we could enjoy any wins the rest of the year (instead of lamenting that it'll just cause DA to stay). But I'm guessing Mickey isn't in the giving mood.

With the cap situation, the general age of the roster, and the usual picks that we owe other teams due to our tendency to trade up in the draft, what up and coming coach is going to want this job? What veteran coach who's worth ANYTHING is going to want to come to New Orleans?

I'm all for showing Allen the door, and I don't think it matters much who we replace him with. The results can't be much worse. Allen hasn't had the team since the second falcons game last year.

I'm not sure there's an innocent soul on the field or on the staff. And I think every one of them thinks it's somebody else's fault.

It's all y'all fault. All of you. You're all playing below your potential. You're all playing below your standard. You're coaching below your standard. You're managing below your potential.
I disagree, i think DA is coaching exactly at his standard.

I'm pretty sure we'll see DA back next year for 2025. I'm completely making up this percentage, but it feels like an 80% chance to me. We'll get some cop-out excuses like injuries, and a position coach or three not doing their job, etc etc. Some position coaches will be fired and replaced. We'll draft high, the fanbase in offseason after the draft will get hyped up just like this past offseason, the season will start, and then it all falls apart, again, with a late season rally that is utterly pointless.

Simply because that's who DA is, and it's never going to change no matter what coaches or players they bring in to help him. I don't even think a Tom Brady or Drew Brees type of player could turn this team into a contender.

Isn't Loomis also in the Benson will to inherit the team as owner once Gayle passes away? If so, I would be prepared for a couple of decades of Al Davis type ownership.

If he wasn't fired after SP came in with the very average broncos squad and dismantled us in the dome then he is pretty safe, IMO.
