So.....now fire Allen ? And trading deadline ? (1 Viewer)

This team isn't firing Allen. They just extended one of their only tradable assets with Alvin (I love him but if you're hitting reset you don't extend him right now). Mickey has all but told you he's not firing Dennis Allen. They are going to put the blame on the injuries, bad luck. Mickey is still pimping covid as the reason the Saints cap isn't good, they had a plan then covid hit. Gayle isn't/can't fire anyone. You're going to get Carr back, they'll play a little more competitive and well be picking 11-14 missing the playoffs again. In the draft they'll trade up for a safety/WR/OG and we'll be right back here again next year.

No, you dont fire DA until the end of the season. DA needs to go, but at this point, let him just keep digging his coaching grave even deeper & put his name at the top of the list of coaches getting the axe on Black Monday. Let the team’s brass observe what players they want/need to keep & take this thing back to formula. Bring in a new head coach & staff & let the long road to healing begin.

If the team stays on its current trajectory, we’ll be looking at a top 10, maybe even a top 5 pick. Even though a QB will more than likely go top 3-5, NONE are actually worth or rated that high. I really like Cade Klubnik, but he may & should stay in school. & as much as i like Cam Ward, he’s pretty much got the same skillset as Spencer Rattler, but w/better stats & a better win/loss record. This unfortunately is a weaker class & i prey we dont hump ourselves by overdrafting a QB & missing out on a more legit prospect.

After we gave away the games to the Eagles & Falcons, i began really, REALLY, started watching & paying closer attention to college & looking forward to the draft. (Side note: I LOVE Youtube TV. Get to record & rewatch every college game & FF through the commercials.) As of now, these are the dudes at the top of my RD1 2025 draft wishlist:

WR AZ Terairoa Mcmillan
EDGE Texas A&M/Purdue Nic Scourton
OT Texas Kelvin Banks Jr
CB/DB Michigan Will Johnson
DT Michigan Mason Graham
DT Ole Miss Walter Nolan

My HC wishlist:

DC DET Aaron Glenn
Former HC TENN Mike Vrabel
OC HOU Bobby Slowik
OC CHI Shane Waldren
OC GB Adam Stenavich

Loomis has made this situation a complete disaster. At this point firing Allen won't do anything because our next coach will be set up to fail. I'm on the fire Allen train but I left that one and will settle for just cutting/trading Tyrann, Demario, Cam, Carr, Latt, Taysom. All of the guys that are just restricting us from having a future. Replace them with draft picks/undrafted free agents and start to build this thing.

The longer Mickey and company try to fight the inevitable tanking period, the more they will lose the fan base.

And please stop with the excuses anyone has that Allen doesn't have a starting QB. Carr was 2-3 this season.

I’m not saying DA is the answer but I’m not sure how anyone can watch what we watched the last 3 weeks and say coaching is the obvious problem.

All the injuries all the problems that simply aren’t coach related.

Your starting QB who is, in fact, a good QB, is out injured with inexperienced, late round draft picks playing.

Olave let a ball go through his hands at a crucial time….

Kamara let a ball go through his hands at a crucial time when we still had a chance.
Carr was 2-3 this season and 11-11 as a Saints starter. Career 45% win percentage and 0-1 in the playoffs in a 12 year career as a sample size. Hitching your wagon to Carr is a guarantee that your ceiling is mediocre. That is what he is, I want better than that.

I don’t disagree with that point…. To be a winner, you would have to have a strong team around him to be a playoff team…

Having said that, some don’t subscribe to being a loser, getting a top pick and hoping to draft a great QB. So having a 15 to 20 QB at a reasonable contract is better then having a journeyman…

And I’m not sure where I stand on the issue. If push came to shove, I’m probably a “tank for the blue chip QB” guy but only after 5 years of stuck in the slightly below middle.

I for one, think that we should’ve fired the HC today or yesterday after the 6th consecutive loss. Reason being, the Panthers game is winnable, without the HC, but not winnable with him…….the probability of a win goes down if he is the HC. You fire him now, get a victory, and start the momentum building asap, if your goal is to salvage the season. If not, then stay the course, fire him after the season, thus getting us a prime pick in the draft.
